UAE— The second edition of Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW) has been concluded with a renewed commitment to transforming global perspectives on health, investment, and support for longer, healthier lives.
This year’s event, held from April 15 to 17, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), centered on the theme “Towards Longevity: Redefining Health and Well-being.”
The focus was on digital health, artificial intelligence, prevention, personalized and precision medicine, and longevity, marking a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s mission to advance health and well-being for all.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and curated by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), ADGHW brought together 14,290 visitors, 1,295 delegates from global organizations, 140 exhibitors, and 271 visionary speakers from 95 countries.
The event also saw the attendance of prominent UAE leaders and international ministers, further highlighting the emirate’s commitment to placing health and longevity at the forefront of its national agenda.
Throughout the week, high-level delegations, including 11 international government ministers and representatives from organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) Foundation and Gavi, engaged in discussions on the future of healthcare.
They emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and data-driven solutions to address global health challenges.
Notable speakers stressed that health is a fundamental human right and advocated for affordable, high-quality care accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic background.
The program featured 69 sessions and facilitated the signing of 33 strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
These agreements aim to advance data-driven health systems, leverage AI and predictive analytics for disease management, extend healthy lifespans through innovation in precision medicine, and build resilient, equitable healthcare ecosystems.
Moreover, the event accelerated investment in life sciences to support scalable innovation where it is most needed.
Key highlights included the launch of the Health, Endurance, Longevity, and Medicine (HELM) cluster-an initiative designed to drive healthcare innovation and attract international investment.
Additionally, a first-of-its-kind Declaration on Longevity and Precision Health was unveiled, setting a global agenda to extend not just lifespan but healthspan.
The inauguration of a regional vaccine hub and the unveiling of the AI-powered Population Health Intelligence Framework further underscored Abu Dhabi’s leadership in public health innovation.
The event also showcased a new white paper on metabolic health and a comprehensive report titled “Genomics For Longevity,” exploring how genomics can enhance clinical outcomes and support Abu Dhabi’s vision for precision medicine.
These initiatives reflect the emirate’s role as a global health convener and its dedication to bold, future-focused decision-making.
ADGHW served as a launchpad for innovation, featuring a dedicated Startup Zone and Smart Health Hackathon, which provided health tech startups with opportunities to engage with investors and mentors.
The ADGHW Innovation Awards recognized pioneering contributions to health and longevity, awarding a combined prize of US$200,000 to solutions addressing the sector’s most pressing challenges.
Through these initiatives, Abu Dhabi is strengthening its position as a global health convener, dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration for a healthier, more resilient future.
The emirate remains committed to championing proactive, data-driven health strategies that benefit people everywhere, reimagining what is possible for the well-being of every individual.
