UAE – The Department of Health (DoH) in Abu Dhabi has forged a strategic partnership with the British pharmaceutical giant GSK to support healthcare infrastructure and advance vaccine distribution capabilities.
This collaboration, announced during Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week (ADGHW), aims to establish a regional vaccine distribution hub in the Emirate, signifying a milestone in healthcare innovation.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between DoH and GSK, the two entities will collaborate closely to ensure the successful establishment and operation of the vaccine distribution hub.
The partnership will also focus on maximizing this initiative’s strategic and healthcare impacts while fostering knowledge exchange and capability building.
Her Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services and ensuring drug and vaccine security.
She highlighted the city’s role as a leading destination for health life sciences and its dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability in the healthcare sector.
Boyd Chongphaisal, Vice President and General Manager of GSK Gulf, echoed this sentiment, expressing GSK’s dedication to developing transformational vaccines and medicines.
He emphasized the company’s aim to positively impact millions of lives across the Gulf countries through strategic partnerships.
