UAE – Hub71, a global tech ecosystem located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, has joined forces with French drugmaker Sanofi to accelerate the development and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies in healthcare.
Through this partnership, Hub71 and Sanofi will implement and scale healthcare innovations to strengthen patient care and enhance health outcomes across the United Arab Emirates.
The partnership will bring together the respective strengths of each company to strengthen technology-driven healthcare systems for the benefit of communities in the UAE and beyond.
The joint statement said: “The collaboration will pilot and validate innovative HealthTech applications that complement both Sanofi’s commercial priorities and Hub71’s growing startup community.”
By combining Sanofi’s industry expertise and Hub71’s entrepreneurial infrastructure, Hub71-supported startups will gain access to business use cases, system use cases, and business development opportunities.
In his talks, Ahmad Ali Alwan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Hub71, said: “Innovations in HealthTech are transforming treatments, enhancing care, and enabling people to lead healthier lives.”
The two parties hope to spark international and interdisciplinary collaboration with industry leaders to bolster local knowledge and expertise in healthcare.
Under this agreement, Sanofi will leverage its legacy in scientific innovation along with its expertise in digital healthcare to transform how health services are delivered in the UAE.
Hub71’s corporate, government, and investment partners are working together to shift the boundaries of healthcare through science and technology.
In turn, this combined effort will provide Hub71 entrepreneurs with a route to commercialize viable healthcare solutions.
It will accelerate the cycle of data- and technology-driven innovation in healthcare to find answers to elusive healthcare challenges and empower people to live better, fuller, and healthier lives.
These joint efforts will also contribute to the objectives that the UAE is working towards a healthier society by 2026, and ultimately, advancing the UAE’s HealthTech industry.

This collaboration comes as a rapidly growing portion of investments is injected into the healthtech sector worldwide. These high-growth activities aim to drive breakthrough innovation in healthcare.
Notable healthtech startups in the UAE include Vezeeta, an online platform for doctor appointment booking and doctor consultation, and Klaim, a provider of AI-based claims management software for healthcare professionals.
Dubai-based Altibbi offers a telemedicine platform and community for doctors, Selfologi offers an online platform for listing aesthetic medical treatments while Medsien provides a chronic care management platform for medical professionals.
The value of the global telehealth market is estimated to reach US$460 billion by 2030. The telemedicine market is also expected to grow exponentially in the Middle East and Africa in the coming years.
The United Arab Emirates is working to cement its position as a global hub for science and healthcare innovation, committing approximately AED 4.9 billion (US$1.33 billion) in funding to this goal.
As a strategic sector, healthcare is being supported by over 30 HealthTech startups at Hub71 deploying technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, telemedicine, and wearable devices.
