Abu Dhabi’s inaugural Al Ain Maxillofacial symposium officially comes to an end

UAE – Healthcare win as Abu Dhabi has successfully hosted the inaugural Al Ain Maxillofacial Symposium at the Ayla Grand Hotel situated in Al Ain City to discuss advanced care in complex craniomaxillofacial and neck conditions.

The Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Tawam Hospital, part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), organized the first-ever Al Ain Maxillofacial Symposium that brought together multidisciplinary teams from a wide array of sector disciplines, as well as allied practitioners.

The interactive symposium saw the participation of health professionals from various disciplines, including Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery (ENT), Head and Neck (H&N), Plastic surgery, and Dentistry.

In addition, the symposium featured a diverse group of expert speakers from across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the United Kingdom (UK).

The keynote speakers focused on three primary areas in surgical management of craniomaxillofacial and neck conditions including advances and developments, epidemiology and specialty data, as well as future perspectives.

The Al Ain Maxillofacial symposium was an ideal opportunity for experts to discuss the global exchange of knowledge around the advancements in the field of maxillofacial surgery and allied fields.

In addition, the highly engaging and insightful event featured panel discussions focusing on key patient-related aspects of multidisciplinary practice, particularly specialty training, research, and outcome data.

The symposium agenda had an impressive line-up of several compelling sessions from local, regional, and international speakers including Dr. Khalid Mohamed Ahmed Hassan Abdel-Galil, Chairman of the Al Ain Maxillofacial Symposium.

Dr. Eiad Qudairat from the UK, Dr. Hala Abuzaid from the UAE, Dr. Mohammed Kamal from Kuwait, Dr. Mohammed Al-Muharraqi from Bahrain and Dr. Ahmed Al Hashmi from Oman were also keynote speakers at the Al Ain Maxillofacial symposium.

Led by Tawam Hospital, the symposium served as an excellent opportunity for participants to expand existing professional networks for continued collaborations on scientific activities, innovation, and advancement of research.
