UAE – The Emergencies, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre – Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) and the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) have joined forces to improve the emergencies, crises, and disasters response system in Abu Dhabi.
As part of this strategic deal, ADCMC and UAEU will work closely on exchanging experiences and knowledge to support national efforts to advance preparedness and response to healthcare incidents and emergencies.
The two parties will explore potential areas of cooperation, exchange questionnaires targeting the local and global communities, and share digital databases and their analyses related to various crises to ensure public safety.
Additionally, ADCMC and UAEU will co-develop research activities and organize conferences, lectures, workshops, and forums in the areas of anticipation, prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
The UAE-based institutions will also collaborate on implementing training courses, campaigns, and innovative projects as well as draft awareness messages related to emergencies, crises, and disasters.
This strategic alliance will contribute to supporting UAE efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi’s readiness and to make the emirate more resilient in the face of current and future emergencies, and crises of all kinds.
Moreover, the industry-academia partnership aligns with the ADCMC’s ambitious goal to enhance the contribution of the community’s institutions and sectors to supporting the emergencies, crises, and disasters response system at the level of the Emirate.
The Emergencies, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre – Abu Dhabi is committed to strengthening cooperation and partnerships with various government agencies and institutions at the local and international levels.
Leveraging the combined knowledge and experience of ADCMC and UAEU, the partnership will pave the way for innovative solutions that will enhance the levels of preparedness and planning to meet current and future challenges in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Acting Director-General of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (ADCMC), and Prof. Ghaleb Al Breiki, UAEU Acting Vice-Chancellor.
