EGYPT – The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA) has announced that it is organizing the 2023 edition of Africa Health ExCon, the biggest medical exhibition, and conference on the African continent.
The 2nd edition of Africa Health ExCon is scheduled to take place at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center (EIEC) in Cairo from June 7th to June 10th, 2023 under the theme “Your Gate To Innovation and Trade.”
The upcoming event, held under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, will see the participation of over 60,000 visitors and healthcare representatives from more than 100 countries.
On an official note, UPA Head, Maj. Gen. Bahaa El-Din Zidan said: “Africa Health ExCon has come under direct directives from His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to boost Egyptian-African cooperation at all levels, particularly in healthcare.”
It is expected to bring together 3,000 delegates, including ministers, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), key figures from government entities, policymakers, and industry leaders from Africa and the Middle East.
The main objective of Africa Health ExCon is to position Africa as the continental hub for health innovation and trade.
Moreover, international companies are keen to participate in the event to explore opportunities for investment and trade in Africa’s health sector, including healthcare providers, pharmacies, feeding industries, and packaging firms.
The three-day event will be an ideal opportunity for experts to exchange experiences in the field of healthcare as well as to tackle the unique challenges of Africa’s healthcare landscape – before and after COVID-19.
Africa Health ExCon 2023 will focus on identifying ways to consolidate cooperation between African countries to provide health care services, medicines, and vaccines to the African people.
In addition to developing the scientific research system, it will build on the success of the inaugural Africa Health ExCon conference, which focused on the best practices for sustainable healthcare in Africa along with showcasing the latest medical technologies in the field of medicine and initiatives.
“Africa Health ExCon is the first-of-its-kind comprehensive platform bringing all the parties of the African healthcare sectors together to establish a unified forward-looking vision to ensure access to medical and pharmaceutical services,” outlined the UPA chief.
Major General Zidan underscored that the UPA established the platform as a sustainable communication channel for Africa to explore the updates in the global health sector, adding that it plays a key role in promoting intra-African trade in pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and services.
