EGYPT – Ahl Masr Foundation has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE), Egypt’s leading real estate developer, to facilitate the purchase of vital medical equipment for its upcoming hospital.

The partnership will complement the recent agreement between Credit Agricole Egypt, through its foundation, and the Ahl Masr Foundation to support the establishment of the Central Sterilization Supply Department (CSSD) at the new hospital.

Ahl Masr Foundation is set to establish the first-of-its-kind regional hospital for the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of burn-injured patients in Egypt dubbed the Ahl Masr Hospital.

Ahl Masr Hospital will be the largest hospital and research center in the Middle East and Africa to offer free burn and associated trauma treatment, and ultimately advance patients’ access to surgical care for burns across the region.

Following the inauguration of the first phase of the hospital, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate and the Ahl Masr Foundation have signed a cooperation protocol to fully fund a medically-equipped double room at the new hospital.

The financing will be used to support the establishment of the double room at the Ahl Masr Hospital as well as help in the completion of the first phase of construction of the new hospital.

Eng. Ashraf Ezz El Din, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, and Dr. Heba Elsewedy, Founder of Ahl Masr Foundation, signed the partnership agreement at the hospital’s premises in New Cairo.

Commenting on the charitable donation, Dr. Heba Elsewedy, Founder of Ahl Masr Foundation, said: “It’s no surprise that a prestigious entity like Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate makes an invaluable contribution to emphasize its belief in the necessity of relieving the pains of burn victims.”

She pointed out that the medical equipment donation will pave the way for other major institutions to show further support for the cause while raising awareness of the dangers of burn accidents.

With its Festival Cares initiatives, AFGRE has always been keen on leaving an unforgettable imprint in community development. Through its financial support, the group creates a positive and sustainable impact on healthcare and education in Egypt,” underscored Dr. Elsewedy.

On his part Eng. Ashraf Ezz El Din, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE), said that the partnership with Ahl Masr Foundation aligns with the group’s social responsibility commitments.

With the hospital’s state-of-the-art offering and highly experienced multidisciplinary team of physicians and surgeons, we are certain that victims will be re-integrated back into society with a healed mind, body, and soul,” added Eng. Ashraf Ezz.
