NIGERIA – AXA Mansard, an insurance company, has collaborated with Airtel Nigeria to launch a new digital health insurance plan which will provide access to basic health care consultation and minor treatment for customers on the Airtel network.
The Airtel AXA Mansard health bundle gives Airtel customers the opportunity to approach low-cost health care consolation and treatment for minor illnesses.
The bundle plan is said to provide three forms of healthcare services, including telemedicine, pharmacy, and hospitalisation reimbursement.
Femi Oshinlaja, Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria described the bundle as an innovative product that has been particularly designed to make significant difference.
“In line with Airtel’s core value, which is to deliver solutions that enrich the lives of our customers, we are pleased to partner with AXA Mansard, to launch a cutting-edge health bundle that will add value to our customers,” he said.
“This partnership aims to provide easy and pocket friendly health insurance access to Airtel users, through mobile data service.”
He added that the health bundle will shorten the distance between Airtel customers and healthcare providers such as hospitals and pharmacies.
“With this simple cover,” he noted, “users may now have access to medication of up to N60,000 and hospitalisation cover of N50,000 (US$108.60) per year.”
Tope Adeniyi Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, AXA Mansard, also speaking during the launch, hailed the partnership between the two companies for deploying technology to make far-reaching impact in healthcare.

Earlier this month, AXA Mansard Insurance company launched a new initiative, ‘More Wellness For Less’, that is expected to revolutionize healthcare service delivery in Nigeria.
Mr. Tope Adeniyi, the chief executive officer (CEO) of AXA Mansard Health noted that the new initiative is driven to provide quality health insurance services that are affordable and hassle-free.
Stating that health is central to the well-being of each individual, he noted that, the new campaign will address the physical and mental well-being of Nigerians, so that, they are active to perform their civic duties and responsibilities as well as contribute to the development of the country.
Disclosing that this service is available across all its online channels, agency offices, and branches nationwide, he stated that, products under this initiative are very cheap when compared with the services offered.
He added that AXA Mansard Health has partnered with quality private and public healthcare facilities as well as pharmacies nationwide to give the best services in healthcare insurance.
He equally disclosed that some of the plans under the initiative have telemedicine infused in them as well.
