UAE – Dubai-based Al Zahra Hospital has officially opened a new state-of-the-art Heart Attack Center at its Advanced Interventional Suite to boost surgical care across the region.

The new Heart Attack Center at the Siemens Healthineers’ cardiac catheterization suite has two labs and the largest team of four full-time interventional cardiologists to offer the best possible care to patients.

With the recent upgrade, the hospital marks a milestone, being the first in the region to feature two of Siemens Healthineers’ latest breakthrough technologies in one place,” Al Zahra Hospital said in a statement.

The upgraded Suite houses the latest medical technology equipment from Siemens Healthineers, namely the ARTIS icono biplane system and the Corindus CorPath GRX.

The Siemens Healthineers’ ARTIS Icono Biplane is a sophisticated imaging system with significantly enhanced 2-D and 3-D imaging to enable faster, accurate cone beam CT images,” outlined the Dubai-based facility.

ARTIS icono for cardiovascular care is designed to enhance workflow in minimally invasive procedures as well as for image-guided minimally invasive therapy to treat a wide variety of diseases throughout the body.

In addition, the top-notch technology will enable physicians to visualize collateral vessels and support sounder treatment decisions before performing life-saving procedures for stroke patients.

Siemens Healthineers’ Corindus CorPath GRX is a second-generation robotic-assisted technology for percutaneous coronary, peripheral, and neurovascular interventions,” stated Al Zahra Hospital.

The Corindus CorPath GRX will allow physicians to perform precise robotic-assisted interventions and offer treatment options for their patients presenting a future possibility of remote-guided procedures and an advancement in telemedicine.

Seated in a radiation-protected cockpit, physicians use joystick controls to robotically advance catheters, balloons, and stents millimeter by millimeter to clear blockages in arteries and veins and restore blood flow in patients with heart diseases,” noted the healthcare provider.

With high-tech equipment, the upgraded Interventional Suite at Al Zahra Hospital will provide the highest quality of accessible patient-centered care to patients and community members throughout Dubai.

The inauguration ceremony saw the attendance of His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of Dubai Health Authority, Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qassimi, Managing Director of Al Zahra hospital, and representatives of Siemens Healthineers among other high-level officials.
