EGYPT — As-Salam International Hospital, part of Alameda Healthcare, has secured prestigious accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), becoming Egypt’s first hospital to attain this coveted recognition.
This milestone underscores Alameda’s unwavering commitment to elevating patient care and diagnostic excellence, opening the doors to a new era of healthcare innovation and expansion.
“After two years of unwavering dedication and rigorous preparations, we are proud to stand at the pinnacle of diagnostic services, striving to elevate patient care to unparalleled heights,” said Alameda Healthcare.
This achievement signifies their resolute dedication to providing top-tier diagnostic solutions that genuinely impact lives.
The CAP accreditation process is renowned globally for its rigorous standards, and in June 2023, As-Salam International Hospital-Maadi’s lab successfully underwent this stringent evaluation.
This accreditation serves as a testament to their unwavering pursuit of excellence in laboratory services, setting the gold standard for quality and precision.
Beyond the accolade itself, this achievement unlocks a world of possibilities for Alameda Healthcare. By aligning with CAP’s global network of pathologists, they gain access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and best practices in the field of diagnostics.
This partnership marks a new chapter in their journey, enabling them to continually enhance their services and remain at the forefront of medical innovation.
Expanding Horizons and Impact
Following the inauguration of the new ASSIH New Cairo in 2021, Alameda’s collective capacity now exceeds 1,000 beds, boasting over 128 outpatient clinics, diagnostic and specialist centers, pharmacies, and a rehabilitation facility.
Over the past decade, Alameda has invested more than EGP 5 billion (US$161.8 million) into its existing facilities, including As-Salam International Hospital in Maadi, ASSIH New Cairo, Dar Al Fouad Nasr City, Dar Al Fouad 6th of October City, Centers of Excellence in various specialties, and the “Tabibi” platform specializing in health and home care services.
Alameda Healthcare is not resting on its laurels; they are actively seeking expansion opportunities in Cairo and across Egypt.
News agency Egypt Today reported that group was finalizing agreements that would see a total investment of EGP 5 billion (US$161.8 million) for the launch of Alameda-branded facilities in the New Administrative Capital, Al Alamein, Alexandria, Assiut, and Mansoura.
These investments will have a cascading effect, fostering inclusive economic growth by creating more than 5,000 job opportunities.
Additionally, Alameda will establish a nursing academy to further augment its capabilities and ensure top-tier care for patients.
World-class centers of excellence
Central to Alameda’s mission is the establishment of world-class Centers of Excellence (COEs) across its facilities.
These COEs will span seven key specialties, including cardiac sciences, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics and spine, renal sciences and kidney transplants, GIT, liver disease and liver transplants, and respiratory diseases.
“At Alameda, we strive to offer innovative, state-of-the-art healthcare services, in line with global standards,” emphasized Fahad Khater, Chairman & Owner of Alameda Healthcare.
“Our expansion strategy is central to our growth and will see us build on our existing capabilities and deliver on our founder’s vision to offer Egyptians premium healthcare services right here at home.”
Alameda Healthcare places a high priority on digitalization and technology. Their facilities are constantly upgraded with cutting-edge equipment to provide patients with the highest level of care.
This includes Siemens’ latest generation PET-CT, state-of-the-art chemotherapy units, advanced radiotherapy equipment, and much more.
Community-centric initiatives
Alameda’s commitment extends to the well-being of the community, leading to the establishment of the Khater Foundation for Community Development.
With an investment of approximately EGP 200 million (US$ 6.5 million), the foundation focuses on various initiatives aimed at building and improving underserved communities across Egypt.
These initiatives include support for hospitals, supply donations, the establishment of transplant units, the installation of advanced medical equipment, and robust support for non-profit organizations within civil society.
Khater Foundation has also been instrumental in supporting non-profit organizations, including NGOs and foundations, to build effective and enduring partnerships, strengthening their capacity to serve Egypt’s most vulnerable communities.
Through a range of community-focused initiatives, Alameda Healthcare supports citizens in need through various means, including constructing cemented roofs, organizing medical convoys, telemedicine clinics, and providing essential food supplies.
During Ramadan, the Khater Foundation ensures that over 18,000 people receive vital support each year.
With over three decades of expertise in the medical sector and a steadfast patient-centric approach, Alameda Healthcare is poised to seize new opportunities in the market, bringing comprehensive, world-class care to the people of Egypt through its esteemed facilities.
