OMAN – Global medical device company Align Technology has launched its Invisalign portfolio in the Sultanate of Oman as the company continues to deepen its investments in the Middle East.

This product launch is part of the company’s market entry strategies to tap into the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Align Technology’s presence in the Sultanate of Oman will extend its regional presence as part of the company’s strategic objective to increase access to digitally advanced technology for the dental community across Oman and the wider Middle East region,” the company said in a statement.

The American manufacturer expanded into the Middle East region following a successful launch across European markets in 2022.

The Arizona-based company plans to deploy its digital healthcare technologies in the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and other GCC countries.

On his part, Angelo Maura, General Manager for the Middle East region at Align Technology, said: “Our expansion into the Sultanate of Oman is a significant milestone for our region-specific plans.”

Angelo Mwaura underscored that this latest expansion takes the company closer to increasing access to Align’s latest advancements in digital dentistry for doctors and their patients.

Align Technology designs, manufactures, and sells its Invisalign system of clear aligners, iTero intraoral scanners, and exocad CAD/CAM software for digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry.

Our team remains confident about growth prospects in the Middle East region,” Angelo Mwaura said in an official note.

In the pilot phase, Align Technology will provide hundreds of Oman-based orthodontists with education and support to become Invisalign-trained doctors.

The medical devices company will empower orthodontists with comprehensive medical knowledge and support to offer Invisalign clear aligner treatment to their patients.

Moreover, the company has already organized successful informative sessions bringing together over 130 guests, including orthodontists, clinic owners, and general dentists from across the Sultanate.

This series of workshops held in Muscat focused on the introduction of Align Technology and the latest advances in digital dentistry.

It presented an opportunity for attendees to learn about the benefits of proprietary technologies and services delivered as a seamless, end-to-end solution for patients, consumers, orthodontists, GP dentists, and lab partners.

Commenting on the market entry, Dr. Mubarak Alsaeed, 0rthodontist and Certified Invisalign Speaker in the Middle East, said: “This milestone demonstrates Align Technology’s ongoing commitment to supporting orthodontists and dental practitioners across the Middle East.”

Attendees also gained insights into complex case treatment capabilities using the Invisalign clear aligner system, and the Align Digital Platform, an integrated suite of unique.

Moreover, it was an ideal platform for Align Technology to showcase the advanced iTero intraoral scanner technology.

By expanding access to the many benefits of its digital platform to more orthodontists and dentists, Align is playing a pivotal role in digitizing and developing future generations of orthodontists and GPs and redefining the patient experience in our region,” underlined Dr. Mubarak Alsaeed.

As a consequence, doctors in the Gulf region can use the latest Invisalign package as an alternative treatment option for mild-to-moderate malocclusions, which is one of the most common dental problems in the general population.

Align Technology’s entry into the Oman market will pave the way towards more patient access to digitally-advanced and more efficient care while ensuring more doctors have the critical tools to future-proof and digitize their practices.

Earlier this month, the company awarded eleven research grants to regional and international universities including Mohammed Bin Rashid University in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Align has selected Dr. Sabarinath Prasad as the Primary Investigator to oversee scientific studies that will be conducted at Mohammed Bin Rashid University.

Align hopes to accelerate clinical research around all aspects of clear aligner treatment, and in turn, increase awareness within the dental community about the efficacy of clear aligner treatment as compared to traditional appliances.
