BAHRAIN—Amana Healthcare, part of the M42 group, in collaboration with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), has held a groundbreaking ceremony to inaugurate the construction of the Amana Healthcare facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain.
This significant event marks Amana Healthcare’s entry into the Bahraini market, highlighting its commitment to delivering world-class health solutions and specialized care to enhance the health and well-being of the Kingdom’s population.
Moreover, this expansion aligns with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 healthcare objectives, which focus on improving clinical outcomes and enhancing the quality and accessibility of healthcare services for all citizens and residents.
The groundbreaking ceremony follows a strategic partnership announcement made in June 2024, where Mumtalakat and M42 joined forces to establish the Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain.
Set to commence operations in 2025, this new facility will be the first international premium provider of specialized long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services in Bahrain, which aims to revolutionize healthcare not only in the region but also beyond.
The expansive 15,000-square-meter facility will feature 100 beds, two large gyms, a hydrotherapy pool, two majlises, and beautifully landscaped gardens.
The facility aims to offer cutting-edge, technology-enabled services across its three distinct wings.
Several prominent members of Amana Healthcare’s Board of Directors were in attendance at the ceremony, including Dr. Mohamed AlSaati, Acting CEO of M42 Bahrain and CEO of Amana Healthcare Bahrain, alongside Khalid Hussain Taqi, Managing Director of Local Impact Investments at Mumtalakat.
In his address, Dr AlSaati emphasized that this highly specialized facility would fulfil a critical need in Bahrain, particularly for long-term complex medical requirements and post-acute rehabilitation services.
Furthermore, Dr AlSaati expressed pride in partnering with Mumtalakat to address crucial gaps within the healthcare landscape.
He highlighted the importance of supporting the country’s vision and creating job opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
In anticipation of further progress, he mentioned that this groundbreaking event marks the initial step in their journey.
To maintain momentum, a recruitment day in Manama on October 12, 2024, aims to engage and hire the Kingdom’s most skilled local professionals.
Adding to the discussions, Mr. Taqi remarked that Mumtalakat is committed to investing in key sectors of Bahrain’s economy to benefit and enrich the lives of its people.
According to him, the launch of Amana Healthcare will allow them to leverage M42’s expertise in providing world-class care, ensuring that technology and innovation remain at the forefront of the healthcare sector.
He further elaborated that the groundbreaking ceremony signifies the official commencement of the project, which will prioritize the efficient use of resources and elevate the accessibility and quality of healthcare for all citizens and residents.
He reiterated their commitment to establishing sustainable, long-term partnerships that deliver valuable services while creating highly skilled job opportunities within Bahrain.
