AsiaMedic, Sunway Group opens new diagnostic imaging facility in Novena, Singapore

SINGAPORE—AsiaMedic and Sunway Equity Holdings Pte. Ltd. (SEH), a subsidiary of the Malaysian conglomerate Sunway Group, have partnered to launch AsiaMedic Sunway Imaging—a state-of-the-art medical diagnostic imaging center located at Royal Square in Novena.

This development marks a significant expansion in the Group’s diagnostic imaging capacity and underscores its commitment to delivering advanced healthcare services in Singapore.

The new centre, covering nearly 6,000 square feet, is outfitted with cutting-edge imaging equipment designed to offer a full spectrum of diagnostic services.

Its offerings include computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), focusing on sub-specialised radiology fields.

The facility is supported by a team of seasoned radiologists, ensuring that every patient benefits from expert care.

One of the centre’s standout features is the 3T MRI scanner, the SIGNA™ Hero. Unlike conventional MRI scanners, which typically operate at 1.5 Tesla, the SIGNA™ Hero boasts twice the field strength at 3.0 Tesla.

As a result, it enables faster scans, delivers more detailed images, and facilitates more accurate diagnoses.

Additionally, the design includes a wide bore and blanket-like coils to ensure enhanced patient comfort throughout the imaging process.

In addition to MRI, the centre is also equipped with the latest CT scanning technology. The Revolution™ Apex Elite CT scanner is designed to produce high-resolution images of coronary vessels while utilising low-dose radiation.

 Its innovative motion correction technology guarantees precise imaging results, even for patients with complex conditions or high heart rates.

Moreover, the centre offers a comprehensive suite of general imaging services, including mammography, ultrasound, and X-ray examinations, providing a thorough approach to patient diagnostics and care.

Its location in Novena—Singapore’s premier medical hub—ensures excellent accessibility for patients and healthcare providers alike, further enhancing the overall patient experience.

The launch of AsiaMedic Sunway Imaging represents a landmark collaboration between AMC Healthcare Pte. Ltd. and SEH.

Mr Arifin Kwek, Chief Executive Officer of AsiaMedic Limited, noted that this initiative is a testament to the company’s mission of early disease detection and the delivery of superior clinical outcomes through advanced diagnostic imaging.

He added that the new centre will complement the Group’s flagship integrated medical centre on Orchard Road, enabling a broader patient base and streamlining diagnostic support for affiliated doctors.

Adding to this, Ms Sarena Cheah, Deputy Executive Chairman of Sunway Group, emphasized that the launch is a key milestone in extending Sunway’s integrated healthcare expertise to both regional and international markets.

 She highlighted that, together with AsiaMedic, the Group is set to raise the bar for diagnostic imaging services, thereby enhancing the overall quality of patient care.

This new venture nearly doubles AsiaMedic’s imaging capacity and fits into its long-term growth strategy squarely.

This highlights Sunway’s continued commitment to innovation in healthcare, exemplified by its flagship facility, the 810-bed Sunway Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

In 2024, Newsweek recognized this center as one of the top 250 hospitals globally and holds triple accreditations.
