Aster DM Healthcare appoints Jacob Jacob as Group Chief Human Resources Officer for GCC

UAE—Aster DM Healthcare, a leading integrated healthcare provider in the UAE, has appointed Mr. Jacob Jacob as the Group Chief Human Resources Officer.

This strategic move aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its people excellence strategy, cultivating a high-performance culture, and providing an exceptional employee experience.

In his new role, Jacob will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and organizational transformation across Aster DM Healthcare’s operations in the GCC.

His leadership will be instrumental in aligning the company’s HR strategies with its broader vision, fostering a culture of innovation, and striving for excellence in every aspect of its operations.

Jacob will report directly to Ms. Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, and will be responsible for leading the full spectrum of HR functions within the group.

With nearly three decades of experience, Jacob brings a wealth of expertise gained through leadership roles in industries such as healthcare, real estate, aviation, and retail.

Throughout his career, Jacob has led HR teams at prominent organizations, including Apollo Hospitals, Columbia Asia, and Malabar Group.

He also brings valuable regional experience, having worked for five years with Emirates in the UAE and having held roles with Apollo and Malabar across the region.

During his time at Apollo Hospitals, Jacob’s leadership earned the company a spot among the top 30 HR organizations worldwide, according to Gallup.

In addition, Jacob has received several prestigious awards, including the Asia HRD Award and the HR Leadership Award, further highlighting his exceptional track record in human resources.

Jacob holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Development from the Academy of HRD, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from T.A. Pai Management Institute, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from SDM College in Mangalore.

Commenting on Jacob’s appointment, Ms. Moopen expressed her excitement in welcoming him to the Aster family.

She emphasized that Jacob’s strategic vision and extensive HR expertise will be key in driving the HR transformation program for their 15,000+ employees across the GCC.
