SAUDI ARABIA—Aster DM Healthcare, a prominent healthcare provider with a robust presence across all six GCC countries, has announced the appointment of Mohamed Alshamari as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Aster Hospitals and Clinics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
This appointment aligns with Aster DM Healthcare’s broader strategy to expand its footprint and enhance healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia.
Alshamari’s appointment comes shortly after Aster DM Healthcare’s recent expansion of the Aster Sanad Hospital in Riyadh.
In his new position, Alshamari will report directly to Alisha Moopen, the Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare.
He will collaborate closely with various functional leads to successfully implement the company’s strategic objectives in Saudi Arabia.
Alshamari, the new CEO, is expected to play a critical role in the hospitals’ expansion, with responsibilities that include planning, strategy, growth, service delivery, development, and fostering key partnerships.
With nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare and insurance, Alshamari is well-versed in healthcare strategy, consulting, investments, and operations management.
He has held prominent leadership roles at several renowned organisations, including ARAMCO, SABIC, Royal Commission Hospital, MEDGULF, and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group.
Most recently, before joining Aster DM Healthcare, he served as the Sports Medicine Advisor at the Saudi Ministry of Sports.
Commenting on his appointment, Alisha Moopen expressed her delight in welcoming Alshamari to the leadership team.
She emphasized that his wealth of experience, combined with his strategic mindset and leadership abilities, will be instrumental in driving Aster DM Healthcare’s growth in Saudi Arabia.
Moopen expressed confidence that, under Alshamari’s leadership, Aster DM Healthcare will continue to build on its legacy of innovation and excellence, further strengthening its commitment to providing the highest-quality care to patients in the Kingdom.
Alshamari also shared his enthusiasm about joining Aster DM Healthcare, noting that its dedication to clinical excellence and patient-centred care has earned it a trusted reputation in the healthcare industry.
He pointed out that Aster’s 37-year legacy, which includes 16 hospitals, 121 clinics, and 306 pharmacies across the region, places the company in a strong position to establish similar trust in Saudi Arabia.
Alshamari looks forward to leveraging his experience to support the team, drive further growth, and achieve new milestones for Aster DM Healthcare in KSA.
