INDIA – Ramesh Hospitals has changed its name to Aster Ramesh Hospitals as Aster DM Healthcare Limited continues its rebranding strategies and aggressive expansion across India.
Aster DM Healthcare has successfully re-branded all four of its hospitals in Andhra Pradesh including 2 facilities located in Vijaywada, one facility situated in Guntur, and another facility positioned in Ongole.
The rebranding is a reflection of the integrated healthcare service provider’s ongoing expansion into new markets in India and in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
In a press release, Dr. Ramesh Babu, Managing Director of Aster Ramesh Hospitals, said: “The association with Aster DM Healthcare has been a transformative collaboration for Ramesh Hospitals.”
Dr. Ramesh Babu noted that the partnership with Aster DM Healthcare had played a crucial role in bringing the synergy of a multinational player to Andhra Pradesh.

These latest shares were acquired from one of the large private equity investors in a buyout deal valued at nearly Rs 460 crores (US$55,991,706 million).
The deal raises the promoters of Aster DM Healthcare’s stake in the company to 41.88%% and the valuation of Aster DM Healthcare stands at US$1.4 billion as of March 2023.
The rebranding exercise comes after Dr. Moopen’s family increased its stake in Aster DM Healthcare, as it continues to consolidate its shareholding in the company.
Aster DM Healthcare has pledged its commitment to increasing additional beds to existing units at its healthcare facilities, alongside exploring greenfield and brownfield opportunities in the sector.
With the latest rebranding exercise, Aster DM Healthcare has added 7101 beds to its medical capacity taking the total bed capacity to 4317 in India only.
This profitable growth is attributed to the company’s ability to maintain financial stability and sign more distribution and importation agreements with several Indian hospital chains.
As of the previous fiscal year, Aster has entered into different hospital operation and management agreements (O&M) with leading healthcare facilities as it continues to deepen its foothold in India.
Aster formed strategic partnerships with key players in the Indian healthcare sector including G. Madegowda Super Specialty Hospital in Mandya, Karnataka, and Narayanadri Hospitals and Research Institute (NHRI) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
