Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025 announces esteemed Grand Jury panel

UAE—Aster DM Healthcare, a prominent healthcare provider across the GCC and India, has unveiled the esteemed Grand Jury panel for the upcoming Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025, which will take place in Dubai on May 26, 2025.

This announcement follows the organization’s recent decision to extend the nomination deadline for the award, to allow more nurses from around the world to participate.

The Grand Jury for this year’s edition is composed of five distinguished leaders in healthcare and nursing, each bringing a wealth of experience and international recognition.

The panel includes Prof. Sheila Tlou, who is the Co-Chairperson of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition, a Special Ambassador for the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, and a former Minister of Health in Botswana.

Prof. James Buchan, an Adjunct Professor at the WHO Collaborating Centre at the University of Technology, Sydney, and Editor Emeritus of the Human Resources for Health Journal, will join her.

The panel also features Dr. Peter Carter, an OBE awardee and independent healthcare consultant, who previously served as CEO of Central & Northwest London NHS and the Royal College of Nursing in the UK.

Dr. Niti Pall, President-Elect at the International Diabetes Federation and Senior Consultant at AXA EssentiAll in France, Board Chair of Harbr, and Managing Director of Health4all Advisory in the UK, also brings her expertise.

Mr. Vishal Bali, Executive Chairman of Asia Healthcare Holdings, Senior Advisor at TPG Growth, and General Council Member of the Neonates Foundation of India, rounds out the jury.

To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, Aster DM Healthcare has appointed Ernst & Young LLP (EY) to independently assess all applications.

EY will oversee the shortlisting of candidates, after which the Grand Jury will evaluate the finalists and select the winner.

Reflecting on the award’s progress, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, highlighted the platform’s growing influence and positive impact on the global nursing community.

He noted that the fourth edition of the award has already seen an overwhelming response, with more than 100,000 registrations from 199 countries.

This remarkable participation underscores the award’s global significance and the vital role nurses play in healthcare systems worldwide.

As the anticipation builds for the grand finale, Dr. Moopen expressed excitement about meeting the top 10 finalists—exceptional nurses from diverse backgrounds—who will compete for the prestigious award and a prize of US$250,000.

The award recognizes nurses for their outstanding contributions to patient care, nursing leadership, education, community service, and healthcare innovation.

In the previous edition, the award was won by Maria Victoria Juan, a nurse from the Philippines, who was honoured for her leadership, dedication to nursing education, and impactful community service.

With the nomination window still open, Aster DM Healthcare encourages registered nurses worldwide to apply for or be nominated for the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025, which celebrates nurses’ invaluable contributions to global health and well-being.
