This prestigious award, one of Aster DM Healthcare’s flagship initiatives, celebrates the exceptional contributions of nurses worldwide and highlights their vital role in the healthcare sector.
Since its inception in 2022, the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award has grown significantly in both scope and impact.
The 2025 edition will mark the fourth installment of the awards.
Notably, in just the initial weeks of the nomination process, Aster DM Healthcare has already received registrations from over 100,000 nurses representing more than 200 countries.
This overwhelming response has far exceeded the number of submissions received during the previous edition, underscoring the growing global recognition of nursing excellence.
The awards not only serve as a platform to recognize healthcare heroes but also foster a spirit of innovation and community engagement.
Nurse Maria from the Philippines was honored as the winner of the previous edition, held in 2024 in Bengaluru, India.
Following her victory, she launched the transformative #BeOneMovement, which includes a lifesaving training program and an environmental stewardship project.
Her efforts illustrate how award winners are leveraging their recognition to create meaningful and lasting change within their communities.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, recently emphasized the vital role of nurses in a statement.
He noted that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system, providing unwavering care and compassion that directly influences patient outcomes.
According to him, the dedication of these professionals forms the foundation of the entire healthcare system.
In his words, the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award serves as a heartfelt acknowledgment of these unsung heroes, celebrating those who work tirelessly to advance the cause of healthcare and improve countless lives.
Moreover, Maria Victoria Juan, the 2024 award winner, shared her personal experience of how the award has been transformative.
She explained that winning the award empowered her to launch the #BeOneMovement, which encompasses initiatives such as the Barangay Lifesaver Program and Nursing the Environment.
She expressed hope that these projects would inspire communities to take proactive steps toward enhancing both their health and their local environment.
She further highlighted that nurses are much more than caregivers; they are true changemakers whose global impact can be amplified through such platforms.
As the call for nominations continues, nurses from the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Africa, the Americas, and Europe have already begun submitting their entries for the 2025 edition.
