Aster Hospitals clinch top Awards at Dubai Quality Ceremony

UAE – Aster Hospital Mankhool and Medcare Hospital Al Safa, both part of Aster DM Healthcare, have been honoured with prestigious awards at the Dubai Quality Group Award ceremony.

During this celebrated event, Aster Hospital Mankhool was awarded the Gold category, while Medcare Hospital Al Safa secured the Silver category.

The awards were part of the first cycle of the Medical Excellence MENA Award, an initiative by the Dubai Quality Group’s Medical Excellence Subgroup.

This award, launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, aims to encourage high standards in healthcare delivery by promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and safety across the UAE, GCC, and the wider MENA region.

 The award underscores the importance of delivering quality healthcare in a rapidly evolving sector by recognizing institutions that align with global best practices and focus on patient-centric care.

The award ceremony, held at the elegant Habtoor Ballroom in Al Habtoor Palace, was a grand affair attended by prominent dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and the CEO of Emirates Airline and Group.

The event also saw the presence of Dr. Hazza Khalfan Alnuaimi, Chairman of Dubai Quality Group, along with over 600 regional leaders, industry experts, and media representatives, all gathered to celebrate these milestones in healthcare excellence.

Speaking during the award, Dr. Malathi Arshanapalai, the Group Chief Medical Officer and Group Chief Quality Officer at Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized that the awards reflect a significant shift in measuring clinical success.

He explained that Aster now prioritizes patients’ perspectives, using tools like Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROM) and Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREM) to capture the true impact of their care.

This innovative approach has allowed the hospitals to provide value-driven care, a factor that was highly recognized during the assessment.

Additionally, Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics across the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, highlighted that the Gold category recognition for Aster Hospital Mankhool is a clear testament to the hospital’s dedication to clinical excellence and continuous innovation.

He pointed out that the exceptional skills of their healthcare professionals and the implementation of rigorous safety protocols have contributed significantly to achieving this honor.

Adding to the celebration, Dr. Shanila Laiju, Group CEO of Medcare Hospitals and Medical Centres, noted that Medcare Hospital Al Safa’s Silver category award reaffirms its commitment to a patient-first approach.

She promised that the hospital will continue to adopt advanced medical practices to enhance patient care, thereby strengthening the UAE’s reputation as a global healthcare hub. 

In addition to these accolades, Aster DM Healthcare was recently recognized with the Dubai Quality Appreciation Award, and Aster Hospital Mankhool received accreditation from the Emirates International Accreditation Centre.

Medcare Hospital Al Safa has also achieved a Joint Commission International (JCI) reaccreditation, underscoring its adherence to global healthcare standards.
