Aster Hospitals introduces the Advanced Heart Clinic in the UAE

UAE – Aster Hospitals has established the Advanced Heart Clinic with the primary objective of assisting patients suffering from heart failure in effectively managing their medical condition.

Senior Cardiology Specialists from Aster Hospitals have joined hands to launch the Advanced Heart Clinic in the United Arab Emirates.

The Advanced Heart clinic is strategically situated at two key Aster Hospital branches, namely Aster Hospital Mankhool and Aster Hospital Qusais, thereby guaranteeing convenient access for patients across the UAE region.

The Advanced Heart Clinic is now accepting patients from diverse categories, encompassing individuals with documented heart failure and those who are experiencing related symptoms.

In a press statement, Aster Hospitals announced: “The clinic’s goal is to provide comprehensive evaluations to establish accurate diagnoses and initiate personalized treatment plans to achieve optimal heart health and overall well-being.”

The Advanced Heart Clinic will be led by Dr. Sachin Upadhyaya, Specialist Cardiology at Aster Hospital Mankhool, and Dr. Abdul Rauoof Malik, Specialist Cardiology at Aster Hospital Al Qusais.

It will be supported by Dr. Naveed Ahmed, Consultant Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Razi Ahmed, Specialist Cardiology, Dr. Krishna Sarin, Specialist Interventional Cardiology, and Dr. Negin Molazadeh, Specialist Cardiology.

Dr. Anil P. Kumar, Specialist Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Debabrata Dash, Consultant Interventional Cardiology, and Dr. Yogeeswari Vellore Satyanarayanan, Specialist Cardiology, will also assist in the functioning of the clinic operations.

Ahead of this year’s World Heart Day, Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, Chief Executive Officer of Aster Hospitals and Clinics in the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, stated: “The launch of the Advanced Heart Clinic marks a momentous milestone in our journey towards better healthcare and improved patient outcomes.”

The Department of Cardiac Sciences at Aster Hospital and Clinics comprises extensively experienced cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, and cardiothoracic surgeons delivering exceptional care to patients round-the-clock.

Over the last two years, around 9,500 patients received medical treatment for cardiovascular diseases at Aster Clinics while approximately 5,300 patients sought medical attention at Aster Hospitals.

Aster’s Advanced Heart Clinic will offer comprehensive care, including accurate diagnosis, appropriate management through medication, along with timely intervention and surgical care when the need arises.

This healthcare offering will play a crucial role in supporting the UAE Government’s ongoing measures to combat the rising incidence of cardiovascular diseases in the region.

It will also help to address the care gaps resulting from the inadequate availability of specialized management facilities for heart failure in the UAE.

Today, we proudly unveil our latest initiative, the Heart Failure Clinic. This initiative is a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to those affected by heart failure,” said Dr. Sherbaz Bichu.

At Aster Hospitals & Clinics, a significant proportion of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases are being identified at an advanced stage.

Approximately 31% of individuals who sought medical attention at the cardiology department within the past two years have received a diagnosis of a cardiovascular disease.

The majority of the CVD patients are males in the age group of 46-60 years, which is a vital age when they work to contribute to the country’s economy and have dependent families.

In recent years, cardiovascular diseases have emerged as the primary cause of mortality in the United Arab Emirates.

More than half a billion people worldwide are affected by cardiovascular diseases, which accounted for 20.5 million deaths in 2021—close to a third of all global deaths.

The timely identification and proper treatment of individuals with cardiac ailments can significantly enhance their quality of life and provide them with improved symptom control.

As a result, endeavors to reduce the societal and economic impact of cardiovascular diseases have emerged as CVDs pose a significant global public health concern.

The launch of the Advanced Heart Clinic marks a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against cardiovascular diseases in the UAE and beyond.

It aligns seamlessly with Aster’s dedication to providing convenient access to advanced quality healthcare for patients within its served regions.

At Aster Hospitals, we believe that our expert team and state-of-the-art facilities will make a substantial impact on the well-being of our community,” outlined Dr. Bichu.
