UAE – Aster Pharmacy and Arabian multinational supermarket chain Spinneys have completed the formation of Zest Pharmacy, a 50-50 joint venture focused on premium wellness.
Aster Pharmacy, a part of Aster DM Healthcare based in Dubai, formed this wellness-inspired pharmacy concept as a part of its strategic partnership with the Fine Fare Food Group, which manages Spinneys and Waitrose retail in the United Arab Emirates.
This mutually beneficial deal represents a chance to provide customers with a unique and enriching experience that combines modernity, nature, and eco-friendly practices.
Speaking on this partnership, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, stated: “We aim to meet the needs of our high-end customers for various products in the health and wellness segment.”
The new joint venture will operate in two formats: Zest pharmacy standalone stores and Zest wellness sections well-positioned within Spinneys and Waitrose stores in many locations.
Zest Pharmacy has an innovative approach designed to extend its exceptional service beyond the physical store by providing a convenient and reliable home delivery service after phone inquiries.
Leveraging cutting-edge diagnostic technology, Zest Pharmacy will offer customers valuable insights into their health status through the Innovation Station, powered by Rossmax.
The innovation station will provide free comprehensive and immediate reports on ailments, deficiencies, and tailored health plans to initiate customers’ well-being journeys, the companies claimed.
“By combining our expertise with the premium retailer of the region, the Spinneys Group, we aim to redefine the health and wellness landscape of countries we operate with the new brand and value-added products,” outlined Dr. Azad Moopen.
The new wellness concept is anticipated to increase preventive care services for people of all ages, and ultimately, empower individuals to lead active, healthier, and fulfilling lives.
Zest Pharmacy will leverage the expertise of Aster Pharmacy in the healthcare space and Spinneys’ retail excellence to create a top-notch wellness destination for people in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE.
Moreover, the grand opening of the first-ever Zest Pharmacy store is in line with their shared goal of expanding their footprint in the Middle East into Saudi Arabia.
The new Zest Pharmacy store, located at the Waitrose store in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, has a team of dedicated health and wellbeing experts who will provide personalized advice on improving health and lifestyle.
The retail outlet will offer a more accessible and convenient way to access high-quality brands and certified products across health and wellness categories.
“Zest Pharmacy is poised to become the go-to destination for premium wellness products. We want to create an environment where customers feel supported and inspired to prioritize their well-being,” underscored Dr. Azad Moopen.
Following the successful launch, Aster Pharmacy is gearing up to open over 25 new Zest Pharmacy stores across the UAE in the next two years.
The new pharmacy store was inaugurated by Ms. Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, and Sunil Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Spinneys.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Mr. N S Balasubramanian, Chief Executive Officer of Aster Retail, and Tariq Albwardy, Director of Albwardy Investment.
