UAE – Aster Pharmacy, the retail arm of Aster DM Healthcare, has entered into a strategic partnership with online food delivery and q-commerce platform talabat to bring prescription medicines directly to the front door of patients in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Under the strategic pact, Aster Pharmacy customers can upload their medical prescriptions securely and easily through the talabat app to make prescription medicine purchases, beginning February 1st 2023.
The joint statement said: “Talabat users can upload their medical prescription, Emirates ID and insurance details through the app. Pharmacists from Aster Pharmacy will contact them for any feedback on insurance approvals, counsel on dosage and consumption instructions.”
To enhance their convenience and comfort, customers will also be able to purchase over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and Health and Wellness items from Aster Pharmacy and have them delivered to their preferred location in 30 minutes or less.
The partnership is designed to save consumers time and money in line with Dubai’s vision to provide the highest quality of specialised and accessible health care to its community members by pursuing efficiency, appropriate allocation and utilization of resources.
It aims to create a complete ecosystem of care that fully utilizes the latest technologies to enhance patient-centered care and help ensure medication adherence compliance in line with Aster DM Healthcare’s mission to continue to improve accessibility to healthcare.
In a press release, Ms. Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, said: “We at Aster Pharmacy are delighted to partner with talabat to provide a first-of-a-kind prescription fulfilment service to talabat customers in the UAE.”
She pointed out that the partnership will offer users a quick and convenient way to obtain their prescription medicines as well as facilitate direct access to the very best health and wellness products.
“Aster Pharmacy is driven by the purpose of making its health and wellness offerings easily available at the doorsteps of people in the UAE, and we look forward to the partnership with talabat to take another leap in this direction,” she added.
Welcoming the landmark agreement, Tatiana Rahal, Managing Director at talabat UAE noted that the partnership will build upon the UAE’s continuously efforts in cementing its position as a tech hub on the world map and adopting innovation across all sectors.
She underscored that the partnership with Aster Pharmacy will support the government’s efforts in the digitalisation of the health and wellness industry, noting that it enables talabat to provide a wider range of offerings to the communities it serves.
“Soon, patients will be able to schedule in advance their prescription medications on the talabat app. At talabat, we are constantly exploring ways to be there for our customers, when they need us, where they need us,” Rahal reaffirmed users.
