INDIA—Aster DM Healthcare, one of India’s largest integrated healthcare providers, has announced plans to acquire the remaining stake in Aster Adhaar Hospital (Prerana Hospital Limited) in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
This move will increase Aster DM Healthcare’s ownership from the current 87% to full control, marking a key milestone in the company’s growth strategy.
The acquisition will be completed in two phases, with the entire process expected to conclude by December 31, 2025.
This strategic step highlights Aster DM Healthcare’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Western India while advancing its goal of providing high-quality healthcare services.
Aster Adhaar Hospital, a 254-bed multi-specialty facility, is recognized as Kolhapur’s leading healthcare provider.
It holds the distinction of being the region’s first hospital to earn NABH Accreditation, a benchmark for excellence in healthcare quality.
Offering over 25 specialties, a team of expert doctors, and dedicated staff, the hospital is known for delivering compassionate and comprehensive care.
Commenting on the acquisition, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, stated that this move aligns with the company’s strategy to expand and consolidate its footprint in Western India.
She emphasized that the acquisition would strengthen their customer base and add value for all stakeholders.

Aster launches senior care plan in UAE
Meanwhile, Aster DM Healthcare has partnered with Dubai Insurance to launch “Vibrance Senior” in the UAE, a unique health insurance plan tailored for senior residents.
This initiative provides comprehensive medical coverage through Aster’s extensive network of hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
The plan covers a wide range of services, including chronic disease management, arthritis care, preventive screenings, advanced treatments, and home-based consultations.
The telehealth services, powered by TruDoc, will ensure seamless remote access to healthcare for senior citizens.
