Australian Pharmacy Chain Chemist Warehouse opens first store in UAE

UAE — Leading Australian pharmacy chain Chemist Warehouse has launched its first store in the UAE at Dubai’s Al Ghurair Centre, offering residents a new destination for affordable health, wellness, and beauty products.

Known for its budget-friendly prices, Chemist Warehouse aims to establish itself as a go-to shopping hub for a wide range of products, from everyday health essentials to skincare and beauty items.

Located in the commercial area of Deira, Al Ghurair Centre holds a special place in Dubai’s retail landscape.

Opened in the 1980s, Al Ghurair Centre was Dubai’s first shopping mall and has grown into a popular retail destination.

In 2013, it underwent extensive renovations, re-emerging with 130 diverse retail outlets anchored by a Carrefour supermarket.

The mall is known for its accessible shopping experience, offering a mix of mainstream brands, contrasting with luxury and premium outlets found in larger malls such as Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Festival City Mall, and Marina Mall.

In a distinctive move, Chemist Warehouse has also secured an exclusive distribution deal for Leo Messi Eau De Parfum.

The UAE store will be the only retailer in the Gulf region to carry the fragrance, with JC Penney in the United States and Canada being the only other stockist globally.

This exclusive offering is expected to attract both fans of the football legend and fragrance enthusiasts alike.

Further expanding its footprint in Dubai, Chemist Warehouse is set to open a second outlet at Bur Juman Mall, another of the city’s historic shopping centers.

Bur Juman Mall, located in the culturally rich area of Bur Dubai on the opposite side of Dubai Creek from Deira, has long been a favorite destination for both residents and tourists.
