Today, it is recognized as one of the most prominent, popular, and innovative companies in Saudi Arabia.

Bupa Arabia increased its capital from SR1.2 billion (US$320 million) to SR1.5 billion (US$400 million) in December 2022.

In addition to the capital increase, the company’s issued shares increased from 120 million to 150 million.

Commenting on the anniversary, Tal Nazer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bupa Arabia, said: “The company has completed a quarter of a century with remarkable achievements, earning huge experience by serving the community.”

The company made its debut in the Middle East market with the launch of its Bupa Arabia app to provide distinguished healthcare services to its customers.

The app allowed customers to book hospital appointments, select clinics and pharmacies, receive approvals, and book visual appointments with specialist doctors — all with the tap of a finger.

Bupa Arabia’s Saudi footprint has evolved considerably over the past 25 years and the success of the department of digitalization has led to remarkable achievements in the insurance market.

The company, in the beginning, faced certain challenges in a market driven by high costs, but we navigated through them successfully to become a leader in the health insurance sector in Saudi Arabia and the region,” noted Tal Nazer.

The company established a department dedicated to digitization in 2018, incorporating a range of new capabilities, which has contributed to a significant increase in productivity.

With a focus on digital transformation, Bupa Arabia constantly innovates its products and services taking into account the latest technologies to offer a seamless, digitally satisfying customer experience.

The health insurance provider offers a personalized touch to clients through its digital platforms: Bupa Click program, Rahatkom program, and Bupa Tebtom program.

The Bupa Click program and the Bupa Tebtom program offer a range of services through a single touch of a button such as home vaccination, telemedicine, and consultation.

On the other hand, the Rahatkom program provides an integrated end-to-end hospital experience for its members.

It also features a virtual telemedicine platform and exclusive services to facilitate the healthcare journey of its customers.

Bupa Arabia was also one of the first companies in the insurance sector to send SMSes to customer’s phones to update them on the status of their requests.

Bupa Arabia’s strategies have changed the face of the insurance industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the CEO added.
