Burjeel Cancer Institute launches comprehensive breast center in Abu Dhabi

UAE—Burjeel Cancer Institute (BCI), one of the UAE’s largest and most advanced cancer care networks, has announced the official launch of the Burjeel Breast Center, a pioneering facility dedicated to comprehensive breast health for women.

This center, located within Burjeel Medical City in Abu Dhabi, was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by key health officials and leaders from Burjeel Holdings. It underlines the UAE’s commitment to elevating standards in women’s healthcare.

The Burjeel Breast Center is designed as a one-stop destination, integrating advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment, and holistic support services under a single roof.

With a focus on both malignant and benign breast conditions, the centre aims to streamline the entire care journey—from initial screening and diagnosis to treatment and recovery—while minimising patient anxiety and improving outcomes.

Experts emphasise that early detection is crucial, with breast cancer recovery rates exceeding 95% when diagnosed promptly, making timely intervention a central pillar of the centre’s mission.

A distinctive feature of the centre is its women-led medical team, comprising internationally recognised specialists in breast health.

Among them is Dr. Nehad Abdul Razzaq Kazim Albastaki, a leading Emirati breast imaging and interventional radiology consultant.

This all-female team ensures the highest levels of privacy, comfort, and individualized care for every patient.

For those requiring surgical intervention, a dedicated breast reconstruction team is available, further enhancing the center’s multidisciplinary approach.

To expedite care, the center offers same-day appointments with diagnoses provided during the patient’s initial consultation.

Laboratory samples are processed and reported on the same day, ensuring swift and accurate results.

 The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including HOLOGIC’s 3Dimensions™ Mammography System, which delivers enhanced imaging for early and precise detection of breast abnormalities.

 Additionally, an AI-driven radiology system supports clinicians in interpreting mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRIs, reducing the risk of false diagnoses and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy.

Beyond clinical care, the Burjeel Breast Center is committed to supporting patients throughout their recovery and beyond.

The center has launched a unique “Survivorship Lounge,” the first of its kind in the region, dedicated to empowering breast cancer survivors.

 A multidisciplinary team—including physicians, psychologists, and breast cancer survivor volunteers—ensures that every survivor receives comprehensive support tailored to their needs.

In addition to the Breast Center, BCI has also launched the Burjeel Cancer Institute Pharmacy—the first dedicated cancer pharmacy in the UAE.
