UAE – Burjeel Holdings has formed a joint venture with Leejam Sports Company to construct over 60 health facilities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Under the terms of the transaction, the two companies will jointly establish a network of more than 60 physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and wellness centers in Leejam clubs across the Kingdom.
Burjeel and Leejam will collaborate on the development and operations of comprehensive rehabilitation and sports medicine facilities to offer physiotherapy, restoration, and wellness services as well as complementary medicine services.
In the pilot phase, the newly created joint venture plans to set up six centers in Riyadh city in the coming quarter in a bid to create a world-class support system enabling Saudi Arabia’s sportspersons to elevate their performance.
The joint venture will expand its services across the Leejam network in Saudi Arabia over the next 12-18 months upon completion of the pilot phase.
“The joint venture partnership will be operated through a newly formed company established under Saudi law and in which Burjeel and Leejam will each hold an equal 50% shareholding,” the companies announced in a release.
KSA’s centers will provide an advanced array of treatments, including vitamin infusion, oxychambers, cryotherapy, ayurveda, and naturopathy along with expert medical services for pain, musculoskeletal, and neurological problems.
Moreover, the joint venture will work with stakeholders across the Saudi Ministry of Sport as part of the ministry’s efforts to promote initiatives aimed at improving and developing the sports environment in the Kingdom.
The signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia headquarters in Riyadh was presided over by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, and Ali Al Sagri, Chairman of Leejam Sports.
“Our collaboration with Leejam to provide high-quality services in rehabilitation and sports medicine is significant as we commence operations in KSA, renowned for its love of sports, and especially football,” said Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, in a statement.
He observed that the joint venture will benefit professional and recreational athletes of all levels and passionate youngsters, noting that comprehensive care will be tailored to their specific needs.
“We are also committed to supporting the transformative Vision 2030, which acknowledges the importance of partnerships with the private sector to promote sports for wellbeing,” he added.
Ultimately, the joint venture agreement reiterates Burjeel’s commitment to providing the highest standard of healthcare delivery and patient management across a network of hospitals, medical centers, and pharmacies.
It comes a few days after Burjeel Holdings partnered with the globally renowned Franco-European Multidisciplinary Institute of Endometriosis Academy (IFEM Endo) to establish a specialized clinic at Abu Dhabi’s Burjeel Medical City (BMC).
The clinic set up at BMC will be a center of excellence for endometriosis and offer highly-advanced minimally invasive surgeries for endometriosis. Moreover, it will have a cohesive team approach with multidisciplinary care and highly skilled surgeons.
At the same time, Burjeel Holdings has partnered with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Dror Paley, to launch the Paley Middle East Clinic, located at Burjeel Medical City.
The Paley Middle East Clinic aims to become a hub for complex procedures in the region by providing world-class specialized orthopedic care for people with musculoskeletal conditions.
