UAE — Burjeel Holdings, a regional healthcare provider listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, has unveiled its groundbreaking Advanced Gynaecology Institute.

This institute aims to provide sophisticated and multidisciplinary healthcare solutions tailored to women of all ages.

Located within Burjeel Medical City, the flagship hospital spanning 1.2 million square feet in Abu Dhabi, the institute comprises three specialized clinics: Gynecological Oncology, IFEM Endo Middle East Clinic, and Complex Gynecology Care.

Burjeel has recently joined forces with IFEM Endo, the Franco-European Multidisciplinary Institute of Endometriosis Academy, to further enhance its offerings.

The newly formed Advanced Gynecology Institute will offer advanced care encompassing gynecological surgeries, minimally invasive procedures, and complex gynecology care for various conditions, including menorrhagia, fibroids, and benign ovarian masses.

Notably, the institute’s expertise lies in its cutting-edge treatments for endometriosis, a condition affecting approximately 10 percent of reproductive-age women and girls worldwide, as reported by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Leading the institute is Professor Horace Roman, a renowned endometriosis surgeon and founding member of IFEM Endo, supported by a team of highly qualified gynecologists, obstetricians, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals.

The institute’s leadership team also includes Dr. Benjamin Merlot, a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) and founding member of IFEM Endo, along with Dr. Sandesh Kade and Dr. Monica Chauhan, both OB-GYN Specialists at Burjeel Medical City, and Dr. Jafaru Abu, a Consultant in Gynecological Oncology Surgery.

The institute will prioritize advanced surgical procedures and will feature state-of-the-art surgical suites equipped with the latest technology, enabling laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.

These minimally invasive procedures offer potential benefits such as shorter hospital stays, faster recovery times, and reduced scarring compared to traditional open surgeries.

Additionally, the institute specializes in the treatment of gynecological cancers, focusing not only on cancer management but also on preserving reproductive function in young patients, managing treatment side effects, and enhancing patients’ overall quality of life.

Advanced and minimally invasive surgeries for endometriosis will also be a key area of expertise.

John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings, emphasized the institute’s commitment to excellence and its position as a leader in complex care.

With a focus on advanced surgical procedures, specialized clinics, and personalized care, the Advanced Gynecology Institute is poised to make a significant impact on the healthcare sector in the UAE and beyond.

The prestigious inauguration of the Advanced Gynaecology Institute attracted a notable lineup of esteemed guests.

Distinguished guests included Dr. Maitha Bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State of the UAE Government, Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Non-Executive Director at Burjeel Holdings, Nora Al Mareikhi, Chairwoman of Hemmah, and Professor Dr. Sherine Farouk, Associate Provost of Academic Projects at Abu Dhabi University.

The establishment of the Advanced Gynaecology Institute marks another milestone for Burjeel Holdings, which recently introduced The Paley Middle East Clinic and the Kypros Nicolaides Fetal Medicine & Therapy Center.

Furthermore, Burjeel’s joint venture with Leejam Sports will soon commence operations in KSA, with plans to open over 60 dedicated sports medicine and rehabilitation clinics across the kingdom.
