SAUDI ARABIA—Burjeel Holdings, a prominent super-specialty healthcare provider in the MENA region, has launched two innovative healthcare solutions, Alkalma and Burjeel One, at the Global Health Exhibition 2024 in Riyadh.

These pioneering initiatives aim to address Saudi Arabia’s evolving healthcare needs and support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 for healthcare transformation.

Alkalma, a mental health and wellness platform, represents a new approach to mental health services in the region. It emerged from a strategic collaboration between Burjeel Holdings and the Colombian healthcare leader Keralty.

Alkalma aims to integrate value-based care through this joint venture, offering specialized primary centers and robust health risk management to improve mental health services.

This platform is expected to benefit nearly 30 million patients across the MENA region over the next decade by enhancing preventive care, managing health risks, and reducing hospitalization rates.

In addition, Burjeel Holdings introduced Burjeel One, a specialized network of day surgery centres that seek to meet the rising demand for high-quality same-day medical services in Saudi Arabia.

Burjeel One is set to offer minimally invasive procedures in various specialities, including oncology, advanced gynaecology, orthopaedics, and neurology.

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, the Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, highlighted that Burjeel One will incorporate advanced robotics and cutting-edge technologies, allowing patients access to world-class medical care without the need for extended hospital stays.

The first two Burjeel One centers are scheduled to open in Riyadh by 2025.

During the event, Dr. Vayalil shared the details of these innovative solutions with Saudi Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al Jalajel, emphasizing Burjeel Holdings’ commitment to reshaping healthcare delivery in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.

These initiatives, aligned with Vision 2030, reflect a broader movement toward a comprehensive healthcare model that prioritizes accessibility, quality, and patient-centered care.

Under the theme “Making Space for Innovation,” Burjeel Holdings showcased its expertise and advancements at the exhibition.

Attendees experienced live demonstrations of advanced physiotherapy equipment, witnessing Burjeel’s strengths in specialized care across multiple fields, such as fetal medicine, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and cardiovascular health.

John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings, remarked that the launch of Alkalma and Burjeel One underscores the organization’s dedication to transforming healthcare in the MENA region through technology-driven and value-based care models.

He noted that these initiatives are timely responses to the growing need for accessible mental health resources and specialized outpatient services, which are critical components of Saudi Arabia’s healthcare transformation goals.

Building on the success of PhysioTherabia, Saudi Arabia’s largest physiotherapy network with 28 centers launched since 2023, Burjeel’s new services will further strengthen its offerings.

Alkalma, Burjeel One, and PhysioTherabia will form a comprehensive, integrated care ecosystem covering mental health, surgical interventions, and rehabilitation, enhancing the Kingdom’s healthcare landscape.
