The new Das Hospital is designed as the primary healthcare and emergency response center for the island’s residents and ADNOC’s workforce.
UAE—Burjeel Holdings PLC, a leading healthcare provider in the MENA region, has signed a contract to operate and manage ADNOC’s newly built Das Hospital on Das Island, a key offshore hub located about 160 kilometers northwest of Abu Dhabi city.
This partnership aims to enhance emergency preparedness, improve healthcare access, and promote community wellbeing on the island, which is vital to the UAE’s energy infrastructure.
The new Das Hospital is designed as the primary healthcare and emergency response center for the island’s residents and ADNOC’s workforce.
It offers comprehensive, round-the-clock medical services, including outpatient specialties such as general surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, occupational health, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, and cardiac and pulmonary care.
The facility also features a fully equipped emergency department, a minor operating room, licensed pharmacies, and a dedicated blood bank.
Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Senior Vice President of Group Medical & Wellbeing at ADNOC, emphasized that this collaboration with Burjeel Holdings will provide ADNOC employees with access to top-tier healthcare and emergency services, reinforcing ADNOC’s “Energy for Wellbeing” strategy.
He highlighted that ADNOC’s people are its most valuable asset and that the company remains committed to prioritizing their wellbeing and fostering a healthy working environment.
Burjeel Holdings will manage all clinical and administrative functions of the hospital.
John Sunil, Group CEO of Burjeel Holdings, expressed pride in strengthening their partnership with ADNOC through this project.
He noted that the initiative reflects Burjeel’s ongoing commitment to delivering advanced, high-quality healthcare to strategic and remote locations.
The company remains dedicated to clinical excellence, innovation, and agile operations in support of ADNOC’s vision for a safer and healthier future.
The hospital includes 23 inpatient beds across male and female quarantine and critical care units, capable of handling both acute and chronic cases.
It is supported by advanced diagnostic imaging services such as X-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound, along with a dedicated physiotherapy and rehabilitation unit.
The facility is purpose-built for resilience and emergency responsiveness, featuring a decontamination unit, ambulance bays, and a helipad to facilitate medical evacuations from the island.
Additional services include tele-consultation, tele-counselling, vaccination programs, and health education initiatives to enhance access and continuity of care.
This new hospital replaces the former Das Medical Center and significantly upgrades healthcare provision on the island by integrating inpatient facilities, advanced diagnostics, and surgical services.
It will serve as the first responder for medical emergencies and support preventive and rehabilitative care aligned with ADNOC’s occupational health guidelines.
The contract builds on Burjeel Holdings’ established partnership with ADNOC, which includes managing Al Dhannah Hospital in the Al Dhafra region.
The Das Hospital will operate as part of an integrated care network supported by Burjeel’s advanced facilities, including its flagship Burjeel Medical City.
Burjeel’s network is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technologies and specialized expertise to manage complex cases across various fields such as trauma, organ transplantation, women’s health, pediatrics, orthopedics, spine surgery, and neurosciences, ensuring seamless care from remote locations to tertiary-level centers.
