
UAE—His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has officially inaugurated the Burjeel Orthopedic Institute at Burjeel Medical City (BMC).
As the flagship quaternary care facility under Burjeel Holdings, BMC continues to expand its specialized medical services with this latest addition.
The newly launched Burjeel Orthopedic Institute brings together a team of expert Emirati medical professionals, offering comprehensive orthopedic care for both adults and children.
The institute specializes in orthopedic medicine and surgery, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and bone cancer treatment, providing a holistic approach to musculoskeletal health.
Sheikh Nahyan toured the facility during the inauguration and was introduced to its state-of-the-art medical technologies and world-class equipment.
He also met with the institute’s medical team and gained insights into the wide range of orthopedic services they provide.
Key officials from Burjeel Holdings attended the event, including Mr. Omran Al Khoori, Member of the Board of Directors; Mr. John Sunil, Group CEO; Dr. Mohammed Qaddoura, Chief Operating Officer for Abu Dhabi and Oman; and Dr. Mujtaba Ali Khan, CEO of BMC.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Muhammed Ateeq Al-Falahi, Director General of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Dr. Rashed Obaid Alsuwaidi, Executive Director of the Healthcare Workforce Planning Sector at the Department of Health—Abu Dhabi.
The Burjeel Orthopedic Institute joins a suite of specialized centers at BMC, including the Burjeel Cancer Institute, Advanced Gynecology Institute, Kypros Nicolaides Fetal Medicine and Therapy Center, Burjeel ENT Head and Neck Institute, and the Trust Fertility Clinic.
Recently, the Department of Health—Abu Dhabi accredited BMC as a specialized center for orthopedic care, further reinforcing its status as a leader in advanced medical treatment.
The institute offers a wide range of orthopedic services, including joint repair and replacement, spinal surgeries, sports medicine, limb lengthening, and pediatric orthopedic care.
It is also home to the Paley Middle East Clinic, which focuses on treating musculoskeletal deformities in children.
The institute integrates artificial intelligence and robotic technologies to enhance the precision and efficiency of orthopedic and rehabilitation treatments.
Dr Mohamed Muath ADI, Head of the Department and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon emphasized that the institute follows a patient-centred approach, seamlessly integrating diagnostics, treatment, and post-rehabilitation care.
He highlighted that Burjeel Orthopedic Institute provides end-to-end musculoskeletal healthcare, from initial diagnosis to post-treatment recovery.
