USA — Clearway Health, a leading specialty pharmacy services company that partners with hospitals and health systems, has appointed Mohammad (Mo) Kharbat, RPh, MBA, FACHE, as its new senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer.
In his elevated role, Kharbat will play a pivotal role in bolstering the company’s strategic initiatives and expanding its pharmacy services to meet the evolving needs of a growing client base.
With over 20 years of experience as a health system pharmacy executive, Kharbat brings a wealth of expertise to Clearway Health.
He will oversee the company’s industry strategy and lead the pharmacy services teams, focusing on enhancing medication access and navigating complex negotiations with payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and drug manufacturers.
His leadership will also drive Clearway Health’s efforts in staying at the forefront of industry trends and upcoming drug releases.

Under Kharbat’s tenure, Clearway Health has made significant investments in its pharmacy services organization, facilitating hospital and health system partners’ procuring and dispensing limited-distribution drugs.
Moreover, his strategic guidance has optimized relationships with PBMs and payors, strengthened the 340B drug pricing program, and earned specialty pharmacy accreditation, all while reducing employee health plan expenditures.
