UAE—Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a member of the M42 group, has once again earned the prestigious Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
This global standard for nursing excellence recognizes the hospital’s dedication to delivering world-class, compassionate care while adhering to innovative practices and professional standards.
The announcement came during the hospital’s first Annual Nursing Conference, held on November 20–21, 2024, under the theme Advancing Nursing Excellence.
The event brought together nursing professionals from around the world to discuss breakthroughs in complex patient care, leadership, and technology, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
The Magnet® designation is one of the most respected certifications in healthcare, and it is awarded only after a rigorous evaluation process.
Hospitals are assessed against 65 stringent criteria outlined in the Magnet® model, including structural empowerment, transformational leadership, professional practice, innovation, and measurable outcomes.
Once earned, the designation is valid for four years, with biannual reviews ensuring continued compliance with these standards.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi initially achieved Magnet® status in 2019, becoming the first and youngest hospital in the UAE to do so.
The renewed recognition highlights the exceptional calibre of its nursing team and their commitment to patient care.
Remarkable achievements by the hospital’s nursing staff have contributed to this success.
Currently, 97% of nurses hold advanced certifications, 90% have participated in leadership development programs, and 85% are involved in groundbreaking research that shapes the future of healthcare.
Additionally, all nurses have completed advanced patient safety training, and 99% hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
The hospital maintains a nurse turnover rate below 5% and boasts 100% patient satisfaction scores.
Dr. Georg-Pascal Haber, Chief Executive Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, praised the caregivers, emphasizing that their dedication is central to the hospital’s achievements.
“Our renewed Magnet® designation reflects our unwavering commitment to setting new standards in healthcare while ensuring every patient receives compassionate, high-quality care,” he said.
Elizabeth Govero, Chief Nursing Officer, highlighted that the hospital’s nurses go beyond meeting Magnet® standards by setting new professional benchmarks.
“With Cleveland Clinic’s model of care, cutting-edge technology, and a culture of patient-centred decision-making, we have created an environment where nurses thrive, and patients receive exceptional care,” she noted.
This renewed Magnet® designation reaffirms Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s commitment to quality, compassion, and innovation, ensuring the highest standards of patient care remain at the heart of its mission.
