UAE – Cleveland Clinic, a renowned global health system, has partnered with G42, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) company based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in a move set to revolutionize healthcare.
This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of AI in healthcare, focusing on enhancing patient care, advancing medical research, and optimizing hospital operations.
The partnership involves the establishment of a joint task force that will identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI-driven projects.
This initiative is crucial as AI has the potential to transform the healthcare industry, but its adoption remains fragmented.
By combining Cleveland Clinic’s clinical expertise with G42’s AI and big data capabilities, the collaboration seeks to set new standards for AI-driven healthcare innovation worldwide.
G42 is recognized for its innovative AI solutions and manages M42, a healthcare portfolio that oversees 480 clinics across 26 countries.
M42 has been instrumental in initiatives such as the Emirati Genome Program, the world’s largest genomics initiative, and Malaffi, Abu Dhabi’s Health Information Exchange.
These projects underscore G42’s commitment to leveraging AI for groundbreaking health advancements.

In 2024, it provided over 15.7 million outpatient encounters and performed 320,000 surgeries and procedures globally.
The clinic has a long history of pioneering medical breakthroughs, including coronary artery bypass surgery and deep brain stimulation surgery.
Recently, it installed the first quantum computer dedicated to healthcare research, further solidifying its position at the forefront of medical innovation.
According to Tom Mihaljevic, M.D., CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic, the organization is committed to improving patient safety, experience, and outcomes through innovative technologies like AI.
He emphasized that AI presents a tremendous opportunity to advance the clinic’s mission of caring for life, conducting health research, and educating healthcare professionals.
Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42, highlighted the vast potential of AI in transforming healthcare.
He noted that AI can make healthcare more precise, personalized, and preventative by deciphering genetic codes and optimizing patient care pathways.
This partnership aims to unlock new frontiers in medicine, empower clinicians with unprecedented insights, and reshape the way humanity experiences health and longevity.
The collaboration between Cleveland Clinic and G42 is expected to have a global impact, benefiting healthcare systems not only in the UAE and the wider region but also worldwide.
By harnessing AI to drive intelligent, data-driven solutions, this partnership has the potential to redefine patient care, enhance medical innovation, and drive operational efficiencies.
