UAE— M42’s Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, a leading specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE, has announced the appointment of Dr. Summia Zaher as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Zaher steps into the role following Omar Al Naqbi, who has now transitioned to serve as the CEO of M42’s Healthpoint.

Al Naqbi successfully positioned Danat Al Emarat as a pioneer in women’s and children’s healthcare during his tenure.

As Dr. Zaher assumes her new responsibilities, she is expected to build on the hospital’s legacy by further driving excellence in women’s and children’s healthcare.

Her focus will include enhancing the quality of care, improving operational efficiencies, and integrating advanced technologies across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The hospital aims to set a clear benchmark in healthcare, continuing its tradition of excellence under her leadership.

Dr. Zaher first joined Danat Al Emarat as the Medical Director and has over 20 years of experience in healthcare.

She is recognized for her expertise in non-invasive treatments and minimal-intervention labor practices, which align with the hospital’s patient-centered approach.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Dr. Zaher’s extensive experience with the National Health Service (NHS) and her leadership fellowship in obstetrics equip her with the skills needed to lead a hospital focused on delivering exceptional care for women and children.

Since joining Danat Al Emarat, Dr. Zaher has played a pivotal role in strengthening the hospital’s Research and Development Committee.

She has also spearheaded various projects to improve patient outcomes, demonstrating her commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare.

Additionally, she is a strong advocate for patient education, empowering women to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

In welcoming Dr. Zaher, Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Managing Director and Group CEO of M42 and Chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, praised her leadership and expertise.

He expressed confidence that, under her guidance, Danat Al Emarat will continue to set new standards in women’s healthcare, reinforcing its position as a leader in the region.

Dr Zaher, in her remarks about the appointment, expressed her honour in leading the hospital and highlighted the commitment of the all-female executive team to understanding and addressing the unique needs of their patients.

She emphasized that the hospital’s focus remains on providing exceptional care to every woman and child while advancing healthcare at both national and regional levels.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children is dedicated to comprehensive, patient-centered care.

The hospital combines the expertise of obstetricians, midwives, psychologists, physiotherapists, dieticians, and other specialists to support women throughout their healthcare journeys.
