UAE— Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, part of the M42 group, has joined forces with Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) to enhance the Bachelor of Science Midwifery degree program.

The partnership aims to address the growing demand for skilled midwives in the UAE and elevate the standard of maternal care nationwide.

The hospital will provide exclusive practical training opportunities to support students in developing the necessary skills to excel in the field.

 The program also seeks to encourage more Emirati women to pursue midwifery careers, contributing to a stronger domestic healthcare workforce.

Since 2018, Danat Al Emarat Hospital has collaborated with FCHS, affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals.

Through this program, the hospital will play a crucial role in supporting clinical placements for students, showcasing collaborative efforts with FCHS to enhance practical training opportunities for aspiring midwives.

This collaboration aligns with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s (DoH) vision to provide exceptional maternity services.

Through hands-on experience and mentorship, Danat Al Emarat Hospital aims to cultivate a new generation of highly qualified midwives capable of delivering world-class care to expectant mothers.

Omar Al Naqbi, Acting CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing equitable access to high-quality maternity care for all women.

Dr. Georgina Sosa, Assistant Professor of Midwifery at FCHS, expressed enthusiasm for the program’s potential to develop Emirati midwifery expertise.

Fatima Eissa Alhammadi, an Emirati midwifery student, expressed her excitement about the partnership’s practical training opportunities.

She highlighted the importance of evidence-based education and the program’s role in preparing future midwives to address contemporary childbirth challenges.

The collaboration between Danat Al Emarat Hospital and FCHS supports the UAE National Strategy Framework for Nursing/Midwifery, which aims to improve the quality of nursing and midwifery care.

The partnership also aligns with the recent launch of the National Admissions Process Program for midwifery, which will make it easier for high school students to pursue this career path.
