UNITED KINGDOM — DocGo Inc., a premier provider of last-mile mobile health services, has announced a significant addition to its fleet in the United Kingdom through its subsidiary, Ambulnz Community Partners in a move towards environmentally responsible healthcare.

The company is set to roll out six electric ambulances, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of patient transport services.

Through a strategic partnership with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, the first of these state-of-the-art electric ambulances has already begun its operational service, marking the dawn of a greener era in patient transport.

Non-emergency patients are now being seamlessly transported to and from Stepping Hill Hospital in these eco-conscious vehicles, representing a significant stride towards sustainable healthcare.

Ambulnz Community Partners is firmly committed to ensuring the entire fleet of electric ambulances becomes fully operational in the near future.

This transformative initiative aligns perfectly with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust’s Green Plan introduced in 2022, which includes ambitious targets such as achieving a 75% reduction in business travel emissions by 2030 and an overall reduction of greenhouse emissions by 85% by 2032.

The electric ambulances boast the same capabilities as their diesel counterparts, ensuring that patient care remains uncompromised.

These eco-friendly vehicles offer an impressive range of approximately 120 miles before requiring a recharge, ensuring reliable service.

Furthermore, the lower operating and maintenance costs of electric ambulances promise enhanced long-term value for the health service.

Natalie Lamb, the Managing Director of Ambulnz Community Partners, expressed her delight in implementing the first electric ambulance in Stockport, emphasizing that this marks the commencement of a broader organizational commitment to aid the NHS in achieving its net-zero targets.

Cathy Lloyd, Directorate Manager of Operational Support for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the institution’s unwavering dedication to reducing carbon transport emissions.

She commended the partnership with Ambulnz, underscoring the crucial role the electric community ambulance plays in providing safe, efficient, and eco-conscious patient transport.

Owned by DocGo, Ambulnz Community Partners represents a rapidly growing network of local community ambulance services that prioritize delivering high-quality urgent and planned care.

With the addition of these electric ambulances, the fleet is on track to become approximately 8% electric, a testament to the commitment to sustainable healthcare.

DocGo’s presence in the UK encompasses 15 locations, around 711 operational staff members, and a fleet of approximately 348 ambulances.

In a significant stride towards sustainability, DocGo introduced the first-ever all-electric ambulance in the United States in 2022, as part of its overarching plan to expand environmentally friendly medical transport services.
