INDIA – The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal (AIIMS Bhopal) has roped in renowned neurologist Dr. Sunil Malik as the medical research public university’s new President.

The Bhopal-based medical teaching institution also appointed Dr. Anshul Rai, Dr. Babita Raghuvanshi, and Dr. Raghavendra Bidua as deputy medical superintendents at AIIMS Bhopal.
Dr. Sunil Malik will take over as the President of AIIMS Bhopal following the departure of the long-serving chief Dr. Y K Gupta, whose term ended on 9th June 2023.
In his new role, Dr. Malik will continue pushing the AllMS Bhopal campus’ goal of providing world-class medical facilities and emerging as a leading destination for students aspiring to be top-notch doctors.
He brings an extensive experience and clinical expertise in healthcare matters on all sides of the Indian health system including physicians and patients.
Currently, Dr. Malik serves as a Senior Consultant in Neurology at the Department of Neurology within AIIMS Bhopal, which is one of the first few super-specialty services offered at the medical teaching institution.
The neurological specialist has a deep understanding of the aspirations and expectations of patients residing in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, and its neighboring states.
Moreover, Dr. Malik is a Doctor of Medicine (MD) graduate from the Gajra Raja Medical College in Gwalior and a holder of a Doctorate of Medicine in Neurology from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) in New Delhi.
With over 20 years of experience in neurology, Dr. Malik will leverage his in-depth organizational knowledge to cement AIIMS Bhopal’s position as the largest tertiary care hospital in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
Malik’s appointment comes as AIIMS Bhopal has begun an innovative health initiative aimed at promoting eye donation.
Through its initiative of ‘Green Card’, AIIMS Bhopal is encouraging residents to pledge their eyes for donation.
These Green Cards will ensure a high priority for any two closely-related family members of eye donors in medical checkups and treatments at AIIMS Bhopal.
