INDIA – Aster DM Healthcare, a publicly-traded multinational for-profit hospital conglomerate healthcare company, has named Dr. Nitish Shetty as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Indian region.
The appointment comes barely a week after Aster DM Healthcare hired Rahul Kadavakolu as the Group’s Chief Marketing Officer as it positions itself for future growth.
As incoming Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nitish Shetty will focus on the company’s overall India operations and lead the growth of Aster DM Healthcare in India.
In a press release, Aster DM Healthcare said: “His promotion to the role of CEO of Aster DM Healthcare India is in alignment with the Group’s strategy to further strengthen Aster DM Healthcare’s presence in the country.”
Dr. Shetty has been Aster’s top deputy for years, from taking charge as the CEO of Aster CMI Hospital in Bengaluru to becoming the Regional Director of Aster Hospitals in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
According to the company statement, he has a proven track record of success and has been instrumental in growing Aster’s Karnataka operations to become a leading provider in the state.
He played a critical role in the commissioning and establishment of several projects including Aster CMI Hospital, Aster RV Hospital, Aster Whitefield Hospital, and Aster clinics in Bangalore.
The newly-appointed CEO also serves as a Director for Aster Labs, the diagnostic wing of Aster DM Healthcare.
Prior to his stint at Aster, Dr. Shetty worked for some of the most renowned healthcare companies in India including BGS Global and Narayana Hrudayalaya.
He is a seasoned healthcare management professional with close to two decades of leadership experience across various hospital chains particularly specializing in strategic planning and management.
Upon being notified of his appointment, Dr. Nitish Shetty said: “I am delighted to take on this new responsibility and work alongside our teams of committed healthcare professionals to continue shaping Aster India’s growth story.”
He underscored that under the visionary leadership of Dr. Azad Moopen, Aster DM Healthcare has emerged as one of the fastest-growing healthcare brands in India.
