INDIA – Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has ventured into the child nutrition business in India with the launch of its new gummy vitamins called CeleHealth Kidz Immuno Plus Gummies.
Developed by Dr. Reddy’s’ dedicated nutraceuticals Research and Development (R&D) laboratory, CeleHealth Kidz Immuno Plus Gummies is a differentiated product, in particular, one that is science-based and clinically proven.
The product is made palatable for patients and consumers and attractively shaped to appeal to children.
In a press release, the pharma major said: “CeleHealth Kidz gummies come in two flavors – Pulpy Mango and Pink Guava. The product is available across the country in leading chemists, e-Commerce, and e-Pharmacies. Currently, a pack of 30 gummies is priced at Rs. 480 (approximately US$823).”
The pharmaceutical company has expanded its nutraceutical portfolio to include CeleHealth Kidz gummies, alongside products in adult nutrition, child nutrition, hospital and clinical nutrition, and general health and wellness.
In similar news, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has forayed into India’s trade generics segment with RGenX to increase patient access to a wide range of products at affordable prices across all geographic areas.
Comparably, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has entered the nutraceutical market with the launch of its new gummy vitamins for children.
“Dr. Reddy’s CeleHealth Kidz Immuno Plus gummies are scientifically designed gummies with Wellmune, making it a scientifically-backed choice in immunity nutrition supplements for kids,” the company said in a press release.
The immunity-supporting gummies are fortified by a scientifically formulated combination of ingredients, including Wellmune, prebiotics, and various essential vitamins and minerals.
According to the company’s statement, Wellmune is a form of clinically studied beta-glucan and a proven ingredient to help reduce sick days in children by enhancing their innate immunity.
Dr. Reddy’s further said that its newly launched product contains prebiotics to help support gut health and is a plant-based source of Vitamin D3.
“The gummies launch marks Dr. Reddy’s’ entry into the child nutrition space strengthening its position in the nutraceutical segment,” announced Dr. Reddy’s.
In view of the existing clinical data and research, the nutrition team of Dr. Reddy’s studied consumer needs and developed a unique formulation with high science to help improve innate immunity or the first line of defense in a child’s body via scientifically designed gummies with Wellmune.
The consumer insights and marketing team reached out to multiple consumers to understand the need gap in order to design the right product that they need.
The launch of CeleHealth Kidz Immuno Plus Gummies is expected to establish Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories as a preferred development and commercial partner in the nutraceutical segment.
“Dr. Reddy’s flagship nutraceutical offering is the nutrition product Celevida for the dietary management of diabetes,” stated the Indian pharma giant.
With the launch of CeleHealth Kidz Immuno Plus Gummies, Dr. Reddy’s will help to meet the population’s nutritional requirements.
Dr. Reddy’s recognizes the need to limit the spread of emerging issues around child immunity in India.
This product launch follows research that showed more than 93.7% of Indian children suffer from recurrent coughs and colds.
Commenting on the nutritional needs of children, Dr. Reddy’s said: “Such recurrent infections appear throughout the year in children, especially during seasonal changes. Weakened immunity has a direct correlation with nutrition deficiencies due to picky eating habits in children.”
