Dubai Chambers donates US$4 M to establish Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital

 UAE— Dubai Chambers has announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Jalila Foundation, marking a significant step in their commitment to community welfare.

In a generous gesture, Dubai Chambers has pledged AED15 million (US$4. 08 million) to support the development of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital, which is set to be Dubai’s first fully integrated and comprehensive cancer treatment facility.

The donation underscores Dubai Chambers’ unwavering dedication to enhancing community welfare and supporting critical initiatives that improve quality of life.

Al Jalila Foundation, the driving force behind the hospital’s development, aims to create a state-of-the-art facility spanning 56,000 square meters.

 It will house 50 clinics, 30 clinical research areas, 60 infusion rooms, 10 urgent care rooms, and five radiotherapy rooms.

Additionally, the campus will feature 19 gardens designed to promote patient recovery and well-being by providing outdoor spaces for families to spend time together.

 The MoU was signed at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters by Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Chairperson of Al Jalila Foundation Board of Directors and Dubai Health Board Member.

Al Ghurair emphasized that Dubai Chambers, aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, aims to strengthen social responsibility through support for national projects that improve community services and quality of life.

He highlighted their cooperation with Al Jalila Foundation as a testament to their commitment to social responsibility, charitable initiatives, and humanitarian work.

For her part, Dr. Raja Al Gurg expressed gratitude for Dubai Chambers’ generous contribution towards establishing Dubai’s first comprehensive cancer hospital.

She emphasized that this partnership aligns with their mission to foster a healthy and sustainable society and enhance health and well-being through humanitarian and community-focused efforts.

The hospital will employ a multidisciplinary team, including specialized nursing staff, to offer integrated healthcare services from diagnosis through treatment.

Selected treatments and services will also be accessible to patients in their homes, ensuring continuous and affordable care.
