Egypt partners with eHealth to digitally transform national healthcare system

EGYPT—Egypt’s eHealth, a subsidiary of e-finance for Digital and Financial Investments, has entered into a significant cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health and Population to operate and manage the country’s National Digital Health System.

This partnership marks a major step forward in Egypt’s efforts to modernize its healthcare sector through digital transformation.

The agreement is designed to help the Ministry of Health develop a comprehensive and strategic roadmap that will guide the digital overhaul of healthcare services across the nation.

Central to this initiative is the integration of the National Digital Health System with Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System.

This integration aims to improve the governance of healthcare services and ensure seamless data sharing and interoperability among all stakeholders, including public health entities, regulatory bodies, and private sector participants.

Such connectivity is expected to create a more efficient and transparent healthcare ecosystem.

In addition to technological integration, the partnership seeks to foster a robust investment model.

Both parties will work together to attract private-sector involvement and encourage financial institutions to invest in the digital healthcare infrastructure.

This approach is intended to accelerate the development and sustainability of digital health services, ensuring that the necessary funding and expertise are in place to support ongoing innovation and expansion.

Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of e-finance, emphasized the urgent need to speed up the digital transformation within Egypt’s healthcare system.

He expressed optimism about the positive impact this collaboration will have on the sector, highlighting its potential to enhance the quality of healthcare services available to all Egyptian citizens.

By leveraging digital tools and partnerships, the initiative aims to make healthcare more accessible, efficient, and patient-centered.
