EGYPT—Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population has taken a significant step to enhance orthopedic and prosthetic care in public hospitals by signing a cooperation agreement with Zimmer Biomet, a leading US-based medical technology company, and its local distributor AZM.
The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital on Monday, marking a milestone in the country’s healthcare development.
This partnership aims to introduce advanced orthopedic implants and prosthetic technologies into government-run healthcare facilities, ensuring that treatments meet international standards.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, who attended the ceremony, described the collaboration as a major advancement for Egyptian healthcare.
He emphasized that the partnership will speed up patient access to innovative treatments while easing the burden of orthopedic diseases on individuals and the healthcare system as a whole.
