EGYPT – Alexandria Pharmaceutical Company, an affiliated company of Drug Holding Company (Holdipharma), has extended its product portfolio to include dental anesthetic carpules.
The Egyptian-owned company is specialized in manufacturing anesthesia carpools used for teeth surgical operations in accordance with the latest international specifications.
The new line, valued at nearly US$1.5 million, has a production capacity of 7 million carpules per month, increasing the company’s total production capacity to 11 million carpules per month.
Dental carpules are small cylindrical glass tubes containing dental anesthetics which are screwed onto dental syringes and are commonly aspirated while the practitioner injects the patient.
The dental product allows dentists and hygienists to reduce pain experienced by patients during surgeries as well as enable them to offer the best possible care to their patients.
In addition to advancing its dental care line of products, the Egypt-based manufacturer will design, develop, and market its own dental carpules in Egypt and beyond.
Moreover, the new production line will enable Alexandria Pharmaceutical Company to boost its total production capacity to meet local demand for dental anesthesia products.
Its new dental anesthetics production line aligns with the Egyptian Government’s ambitious goal of targeting self-sufficiency in vital medical supplies including dental anesthesia products.
Additionally, the move is in line with the Egyptian authorities’ direction in supporting the private sector and maximizing its role in development processes.
The manufacturer also plans to open a new line for producing pre-packed anesthetic syringes, which dispenses with the need for an injection gun.
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company established new production lines for disinfectant products to meet the growing need for such products in the Egyptian market.
