EGYPT – With backing from Mercedes-Benz Egypt, the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYF) is gearing up to establish the new global heart centre in the 6th of October City in Giza Governate, Egypt.
The new Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre is expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2024.
The new facility will offer value-based care to patients with heart disease free of charge, including children, and ultimately, improve their quality of life.
The new hospital is projected to serve more than 120,000 patients and perform 12,000 surgical operations, 60% of which will be on children.
The center will help to reduce patient waiting times in clinics as well as raise outpatient satisfaction after patients receive urgent medical attention.
Additionally, the heart hospital will provide hands-on medical training to cardiologists and surgeons building on the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation’s ambitious humanitarian efforts.
The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation offers free-of-charge healthcare services to more than 40,000 people suffering from heart and cardiovascular diseases every year.
Founded in 2008, MYF is an Egyptian registered charity non-governmental organization (NGO) responsible for the strategic management and administration of the Aswan Heart Centre and Aswan Heart Research Centre.
The body runs one of the exceptional projects of enormous significance to the health and well-being of the Egyptian people that is entirely based on donations, the Aswan Heart Centre.
The Foundation offers its services free of charge to as many Egyptians as possible and training programs for doctors and medical staff on the latest treatment protocols for heart diseases.
With the help of the new heart hospital, MYF aims to help elevate the standard of healthcare services.
The Mercedes-Benz Egypt and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation will work closely to effectively promote patient access to essential healthcare services.

Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz Egypt will contribute to accelerating the construction pace of the new Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in the 6th of October.
The deal follows Mercedes-Benz Egypt’s visit to the Aswan Heart Centre to gain first-hand experience of the healthcare services offered by the center to heart and cardiovascular patients.
The luxury brand also gained insights into the scientific and medical research performed by the center’s most prominent cardiologists to increase the cure rates of heart diseases in Egypt.
During the visit, representatives from Mercedes-Benz Egypt also met with Doctor Sir Magdi Yacoub and acclaimed his exemplary role in improving healthcare services in the country.
The luxury brand’s latest cooperation with MYF is anticipated to positively impact future generations, and achieve a transformative impact on the lives of Egyptians.
Moreover, the primary goal of cooperation partnership is to deliver the most innovative treatments to thousands of Egyptians and help develop the healthcare system in the country.
