EHA partners with Konecta to drive digital healthcare transformation in Egypt

EGYPT — The Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA), led by Chairperson Ahmed El-Sobky, has met with Konecta Egypt’s General Manager, Tawfik Kandil, and Chief Business Officer for the Middle East and Africa, Safinaz El-Kattam, to discuss a potential collaboration aimed at advancing digital transformation and smart healthcare solutions across Egypt.

This meeting highlights the EHA’s commitment to forming strategic partnerships with leading global technology companies to drive innovation within the country’s healthcare sector.

El-Sobky emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Authority’s broader vision to modernize its technological infrastructure and improve service quality by leveraging advanced digital tools.

He pointed out Konecta’s strong global presence as a leader in integrated technology solutions and system integration, supported by investments totaling around US$200 million worldwide.

This financial strength and expertise position Konecta as a capable partner for delivering large-scale, impactful projects in Egypt’s healthcare system.

The discussions centered on several key areas of cooperation. One major focus is the development of integrated digital platforms to support the operation of smart healthcare facilities under Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System.

 Another significant proposal is the creation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence within the EHA’s facilities.

This center would aim to enhance clinical decision-making, facilitate health data analytics, and ultimately improve the quality of healthcare services available to Egyptian citizens.

El-Sobky reiterated the Authority’s strategic commitment to digital transformation and the integration of AI as essential tools for delivering more efficient and effective healthcare.

He affirmed that the EHA is dedicated to adopting the latest global technologies to keep pace with rapid advancements in digital health.

On his part, Tawfik Kandil expressed Konecta’s readiness to contribute its global expertise and substantial investment capabilities to this partnership.

He highlighted the company’s focus on innovation and sustainability as the foundation for developing Egypt’s digital health infrastructure.
