UAE—As part of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has organized a workshop on removing bureaucracy in the healthcare sector.
This effort demonstrates its dedication to the UAE’s leadership’s vision and instructions to achieve smart government goals while reducing bureaucracy in public services.
The event brought together leaders from 16 linked hospitals to address major projects, recommendations, and difficulties in accordance with the UAE government’s ‘Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.’
The workshop was attended by 16 affiliated hospitals, including Abdulla Bin Omran Hospital, Kalba Hospital, Saqr Hospital, Al Dhaid Hospital, Shaa’m Hospital, Al Qassimi Hospital, Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, Khorfakkan Hospital, Al Qassimi Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Dibba Hospital, Fujairah Hospital, Masafi Hospital, Kuwait Hospital in Dubai, Al Amal Hospital, and Umm Al Quwain Hospital.
This strategic initiative demonstrates EHS’s commitment to improve customer experience, government services, and progressing towards the goals of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.
The initiative aligns with EHS’s strategy of enhancing operational efficiency, embracing innovative initiatives, improving operational processes, and prioritizing patient satisfaction.
Furthermore, it enhances commitment to improving the patient experience and assuring service excellence, demonstrating the view that minimizing bureaucracy is critical to delivering high-quality healthcare services efficiently and effectively.
This will strengthen the UAE’s global leadership in healthcare and ensure that the country remains at the forefront of public service innovation.
During the session, projects and studies aiming at developing zero-bureaucracy policies and related proposals that are still being considered were discussed.
Moreover, the event addressed current difficulties and opportunities to investigate ways to build creative solutions that promote the streamlining and reducing procedures within EHS.
This initiative provided a thorough review of best practices, experiences, and outcomes in implementing zero bureaucracy in EHS hospitals, emphasizing those with favourable results.
It also highlighted the role and experiences of EHS institutions that launched innovative projects to increase administrative operations efficiency and reduce the amount of time patients spend in health care.
Among these initiatives were projects that cut wait times and enhanced patient experiences.
Proposals and efforts to streamline administrative procedures and decrease the work required by patients and carers were prioritized.
These included measures to speed up admission and discharge procedures and allow for online payment of treatment fees.
One hospital has already implemented these changes, resulting in a more than 50% reduction in the patient journey and a 60% decrease in procedural steps.
These achievements help to improve consumer and worker satisfaction and experience.
The session is consistent with Emirates Health Services’ unwavering commitment to implementing best practices that improve the quality of healthcare services delivered to the community.
It aligns with the goals of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision and the UAE Centennial 2071 plan by delivering smart, integrated services that prioritize the enjoyment and well-being of citizens and residents.
