UAE – The Emirates Health Services (EHS) has deployed 11 Early Detection and Prevention Units (EDPU) at selected affiliated clinics as part of its Itmenan programme.
As part of its strategic projects, EHS has launched the Itmenan programme to provide customers with comprehensive and periodic tests for non-communicable and chronic diseases.
These medical tests will help people detect or prevent illnesses such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, lung disease, osteoporosis, and depression, just to name a few.
Similarly, Emirates Health Services unveiled its Ghaiath project for emergency and crisis management as part of its series of innovative projects.
Commenting on the latest launch, Dr. Aisha Suhail, Director of the Primary Health Care Department at EHS, asserted: “The programme relies on EDPU technology and is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region.”
The Itmenan programme will leverages emerging technologies to evaluate the health of community members based on the risk factors for each individual in a comprehensive and preventative manner.
Its mobile EDPU unit will be activated during special activities at various government departments and centres to provide preventive and primary care services.
“The programme is rooted in science-based preventative, predictive, personalised, and participatory medicine. This initiative aims to offer the best preventative healthcare clinical practices by embracing the latest medical testing technologies,” she outlined.
Through this programme, Emirates Health Services will use advanced technology to administer vaccines among populations in the UAE.
EHS’s goal is to offer all residents of the Emirati community and foreign tourists a system of efficient, cutting-edge, sustainable, and integrated health care.
The Itmenan programme will also promote prevention, screening, and early diagnosis of conditions related to smoking, nutrition, and unhealthy lifestyles.
“The programme will provide all required tests, follow-up, and test results within 20 minutes, which significantly enhances patient comfort,” stated Dr. Aisha Suhail.
The launch of the Itmenan programme aligns with EHS’ efforts to provide the highest standards of healthcare services and drive comprehensive diversification in its multiple health facilities.
This programme will be available at a range of EHS health centres including the Muhaisnah Health Centre in Dubai, the Family Health Promotion Centre, and the Khorfakkan Public Health Centre in Sharjah.
Other EHS facilities include Mushairif Medical Centre in Ajman, Family Health Promotion Centre, the Al Mairid Health Centre in Ras Al Khaimah, as well as Al Faseel Health Centre, and Dhadna Health Centre in Fujairah.
