UAE – Emirates Health Services (EHS) has introduced its new knowledge management platform for healthcare professionals to share their insights and improve their productivity at workplaces.

It follows the launch of the Strategy for Happiness and Wellbeing to improve the work environment and promote happiness among staff members by engaging employees and leadership in the strategy.

EHS’s online platform is a complete interactive system developed to systematically manage knowledge assets in order to create added value, which is capable of meeting strategic health needs.

To this end, users of the knowledge management platform will have access to the United Arab Emirates’ national health goals, strategies, and programmes.

This news comes as the global market for knowledge management was estimated at US$381.5 billion in the year 2020 and it is projected to reach a revised size of US$1.1 Trillion by 2026.

Knowledge management is a managerial approach through which an organization collects, analyses, systematizes, stores, and shares its knowledge assets or knowledge-based intellectual property.

The new healthcare platform creates multiple avenues for medical staff to share their knowledge peer-to-peer and improve their abilities and capacities to make comprehensive decision-making.

With the latest launch, Emirates Health Services aims to foster a positive working environment with the most up-to-date medical technologies.

In his address, Dr. Kareema Alraesi, Head of the Medical Professional Affairs Department at Emirates Health Services, stated: “This launch is an extension of the EHS’s developmental approach to enhance the work environment and improve its tools in accordance with the EHS’s 2023-2026 strategy.”

She outlined that the knowledge management space will build on the ambitious goal of promoting a good quality of life for all members of the UAE society and achieving health sector sustainability.

This online platform will equip health care professionals with the essential clinical decision support tools by providing access to all the UAE’s strategies, policies, guidance, and training materials required to deliver high-quality health care services,” asserted Dr. Alraesi.

Moreover, the platform will allow specialists to easily access the evidence-based health information they need to offer care services per the highest global standards and best practices in primary health care.

The launch of the knowledge management platform follows the partnership between Emirates Health Services and Merck Serono to explore opportunities for collaborative cooperation.

The two parties plan to establish a legal framework for collaboration in the areas of clinical training for medical staff members in the treatment of chronic illnesses as well as the acquisition and exchange of experiences.

H.E. Dr. Youssef Mohammed Al-Sarkal, Director General of Emirates Health Services, and Mr. Ahmed Fadl, General Manager of Merck Serono for the Gulf region, presided over the signing ceremony.
