EGYPT – Credit Agricole Egypt, through its foundation, has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Ahl Masr Foundation to establish a new regional hospital for the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of burn-injured patients.

Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development and Ahl Masr Foundation have signed a cooperation protocol to open the first-ever Burns and Trauma Hospital in Egypt and the Middle East dubbed the Ahl Masr Hospital.

Ahl Masr Hospital will be the largest hospital and research center in the Middle East and Africa to offer free burn and associated trauma treatment, and ultimately advance patients’ access to surgical care for burns across the region.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Managing Director of Crédit Agricole Egypt & Vice Chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development, and Dr. Heba El Sweedy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Ahl Masr Foundation.

Welcoming the strategic deal with Ahl Masr, Jean-Pierre Trinelle said: “Since its inception in 2017, Credit Agricole Egypt’s foundation has been investing in programs that create a positive and sustainable impact on society.”

This cooperation is in alignment with Credit Agricole Foundation’s strategy that aims at being beneficial to local communities and in particular, raising the level of health care for the citizens.

The mission of the Foundation is to complement and amplify the Bank’s contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility with a focus on four main pillars: Health, Education, Environment, and Social Entrepreneurship.

In line with the agreement, Credit Agricole Foundation for Development has made a charitable contribution to support the establishment of the Central Sterilization Supply Department (CSSD) at the new hospital.

The Central Sterilization Supply Department will be responsible for preparing surgical supplies and equipment for all hospital units to ensure a clean, sterile, and infection-free environment surrounding patients, visitors, and staff.

On her part, Dr. Heba El Sweedy lauded the Credit Agricole Foundation for Development team for their constant belief in the meaningful cause and their support for the Ahl Masr Hospital, stating that the new facility will open its doors to patients across the region this year.

El Sweedy emphasized the necessity and importance of opening the hospital for burn care, noting that the Ahl Masr Hospital will provide essential care, and ultimately save the lives of everyone who is subjected to a burn accident

She stated that the severity of burn injuries makes them a life-threatening matter that requires all necessary means to reduce waiting lines and ensure continuous preparedness, adding that the new hospital will provide timely medical treatment, rehabilitation, and psychological services.
